Hey Tacomaworld, here to start a thread on the Rigid Adapt. I haven't seen a lot of information out there on this new light and wanted to share my experience with installation and see if anyone else would like to share what they've done.

First off this is a really cool light bar, packed with features not currently seen anywhere else. It is big and finding good fitment can be troublesome.

My idea was to fit a 30" bar in the space between the bumper and the grill like many of the hidden light bars are mounted. I was looking for a similar look to the Camburg Tundra while keeping the factory bumper. Because the cooling fins are on the bottom it is taller than most other bars measuring almost 3 3/4" in height without the brackets. To make this installation work, the bumper will need to be trimmed and a bracket built to support from underneath. Since I hadn't thought through this that much, I chose to punt and went with the SDHQ behind the Grill Light Bar Mount. Couldn't be more impressed with the build quality of their product.

Here are some pics of how I got to where I'm at today.

How do you like the output on it? I was impressed with the one that I got my hands on.

I really like the output, it throws a ton of light. I like that it is adjustable. However with the behind the grill mount it kills a lot of the up close flood. It's hard to see in the pics but the spot really lights up down road really well.

Hey ever since i came across this post I wanted to do this instead of getting a roof rack... How does the light look like down the road? do you think that the grill affects the spot/hyper spot distance and light. Because it looks like the grill kills a lot of the light close up and further out/ not getting its max output out. Second question. Did you ever have to change the battery, or anything after getting the rigid light bar and where did you install the controller.

Old thread, you can swap for a more mesh based grill to block less light output. A battery upgrade is not needed for a light bar unless you are running for extended periods with the truck off, with the truck running power is supplied by the alternator.

I see the more meshed grill makes sense, but thank you for following up quick. :facepalm:I asked that battery question in my post and you were the one who told me about the battery and the alternators relationship to the light bar thank you again
