Great. I'll probably just send them that way once they need to be rebuilt. Hopefully not for a while.

After some intermittent non-firing ballasts, I figured to just upgrade to OEM HID headlight stuff. Even though TRS has a good warranty on all their stuff, it's such a hassle to remove and replace and go through the whole warranty procedure.
Got some waterproofed Denso Toyota ballasts, Osram Nightbreaker oem bulbs, and a new harness (because why not everything else will be new)

I'm in the same ballpark. Just replaced my bulbs with the same ones you have and I have had an intermittent firing from one of the ballasts, but it seems to be stable at the moment. It'll probably stop when I get in the truck in the morning...

What did you get? Those Osram Nightbreaker 66240 bulbs were the brightest bulb in a shootout on Hidplanet. A little brighter than the Osram CBI bulbs I had. The new Nightbreakers are 4300k and the CBI's are 5500k. So not as white, but brighter.

I purchased an Ultragauge to monitor my fuel trims since I have added a Volant intake, manifold spacer, URD Y-pipe, and TRD cat back exhaust. These bolt-ons with no tuning had me wondering. I also had an Ecoblock MAF spacer that I un-installed until I could verify what it was doing as far as manipulating the air/fuel.
Without the Ecoblock, long term fuel trims were about -9% to -11% and short term ft at about 3 to 6%. This would indicate a rich condition.

I installed to Ecoblock maf spacer and ltft dropped to almost perfect at -.78% and stft to about -2 to 2% (hovering around 0%) Zero trim means that the air/fuel ratio is good and the computer doesn't need to compensate and trim the fuel, and better drivability.

So, it just so happens that with the combo of mods I currently have, the Ecoblock "tuned" the truck air/fuel to a way better range than without. These fuel trims were monitored at cruising speed and during acceleration, from about 1500 to 3600 RPMS.

Couple shots of the UG while cruising and accelerating. I noticed that under heavy acceleration, the stft would indicate slightly richer at -2.3% which is fine with me, still good and better than indicating a lean condition.

@Torspd Please correct me if I explained anything wrong.

I had a chance to monitor the AF ratio while in open loop. The truck switches to open loop under wide open throttle and is no longer using the 02 sensors to hold the AF mixture. I did a few wot runs in 4th and 5th gear to make sure that the AF ratio is still safe in open loop with the Ecoblock maf spacer installed.
The Ultra gauge reads the wideband o2 sensors and outputs lambda, 1= stoic, (14.7)
    <1, rich
    >1, lean
You get the AF ratio by 14.7xLambda

The AF ratio was pretty spot on, at about 12.5 from 3000 rpms and richens out to 11.95 close to redline. I did some digging and you would want about 12.1 at WOT for a NA 1grfe.

So, the Ecoblock spacer will stay installed.

I put the lambda outputs at the top of this page on the UG to monitor these runs.

Something interesting I noticed about the engine temp is that the water temp will stay steady at about 185-195. That is good and all, but that is only showing you that your radiator system is working normally.
My engine oil temp gauge rises to about 215 on long trips going up a slight incline. To me, that is the real temp that is important to monitor. Don't get me wrong, water temp is important also, but will only show you what your water temp is.
If not for the engine oil temp gauge I would be thinking that the engine never goes above 195, which is false.

No, that engine oil temp is normal. Just nobody knows what theirs is. We do have an oil cooler.

Over 300 is when the oil starts to go bad. I don't think my truck would ever reach those temps, but I have my oil temp alarm set at 260. Keep in mind that the different parts of the engine can get pretty hot, way hotter than the 195 coolant temp, and that is normal.

Damn that's expensive. For that price you would think it would be way better!
