Spent the day yesterday with a few of the other guys from around New England spraying our frames with Fluid Film to help protect them through the winter. Finished off with a trip to Treehouse Brewing for a couple of pints. We had a first gen with a 500 mile new frame, mostly second gens, a pair of third gens and a brand new Tundra TRD Pro. I was too busy crawling around under the trucks to get any pictures but there were some nice rigs in my yard yesterday.

Helped a neighbor move some furniture to his rental house in the Adirondacks. My new ezhauler 6x12 towed like a charm. Easy peasey especially after getting the rear leaf packs rebuilt. 13.1 mpg

I placed my switch on the driver side next to the cubby. Ran a constant 12v and grounded in the tail light area. Drilled a hole for the switch and the lights in the bed itself.

Post up when you're done! This is on my to-do list and I'm curious how others are doing it outside of the dog platform thread I follow. I think I'm going to hinge mine so it folds up if I need it to.

So I know this has been covered in other threads but it's worth showing IMO. I tore my front ADD apart today since it will activate just fine when the trucks cold. But drive it for 25 or 30 minutes and I get the 4hi blink when I try to engage. 204k on my truck and this is what the inside of the ADD looks like.

    20171022_115940.jpg
Looks brand new but I haven't been gentle on this truck.

    Then I noticed this.
    20171022_115950.jpg

I'm going to do some cleaning and bending of contacts, add a little contact grease and see what happens.

No arc marks on the motor either but I still might solder.

I tore a starter solenoid apart on my '99 some years ago at about 150K mi. Everything was scorched as hell inside, not just the main contact, but the relay/solenoid plunger thingy contacts... the point: clean any and all contacts you can get to in the whole circuit, beef up and solder everything you can reach, grease or lacquer the connections wherever you can... good, 'clean', 'fast' current.

Yessir...no pics but done and done. Even applied power using the Power Probe. Smooth operation. Even busted out the good grease.

Nice! The good stuff... I found a can of Simonz paste wax after my dad died. It was from the '50's, never opened. I cracked it a few weeks ago and did the full-day, Zen-zone detail on the truck. Half the stuff in there has probably since been banned by the EPA, but nothing smells as good as old school toxic chemicals and waxes from US-occupied, third-world rainforests and the oils of endangered species.

Looked like lane 4 at the PBA championships when I was done...

Hahaha Agreed! I collect automotive antiques and oil/gas signs from the good old days. That's how I stumbled upon the grease! I crack the can open every now and then. A little of the old stuff goes a loooooong way...and works well...like Asbestos for insulation haha
