Hey just got an account here. I'm wondering if the Bluetooth function for "car media" on the 2010 Tacomas can be configured to hook up to play music from my phone. - buddy of mine said it could be done, but his is newer. All I can do is talk on the phone through my jbl speakers but that is it with Bluetooth. Thank yo

as far as I've seen no- it would be covered in the owners manual(its not)in my 2009.
You'd think for a 7 yr old car, itd be possible, but im guessing its only 3rd gens. Id love to stream thru my JBL system as the aux cord sucks.

Try connecting it as an audio player as well as a phon. Had to do it for both on my 2013 to get it to work.

Sorry, was thanking all of you for answers, I have a 2010 so everything digital or analog like... not LCD.... so there's no option for that... I'm gonna try to find a mod ...or loop hole...maybe have to get a newer radio for it to work

Copied from a similar thread... looks like this is the answer for me

"Both the phone and BT must be A2DP compatible. Most (if not all) smart phones are capable, but very few Bluetooth have it. Look for A2DP and that will answer your question. "

Just saw where you can get a Bluetooth Reciever, plugs right into a car charger, then a short aux cord to the aux jack. Phone pairs to the reciever and plays through auxiliary function.

That may be a solution for those who wanna try. I'll start trying to do it.

I have one of those for my MG Midget. It works but the sound quality is not that great. Of course it only cost $15.00 on Amazon.
