Why 2 batteries? Why the sealed batteries? Seems like very expensive options for starting something that won't get run often.

2 batteries because I am thinking of having a 12v AC compressor instead of engine driven. Sealed batteries because I already have the yellow top from when I had it mounted in the trunk. As far as not getting driven often, itll get driven regularly. She's a sexy little thing and deserves to be shown off.

No more floor. Time to start building the new one.

Since my trunk handle mount was broken when I got it and am building a more modern setup for it, I decided to experiment. I cut the lock & handle off, now it is just a housing for the light. Not sure if I will keep/modify this idea, or of I will just scrap the idea and figure out a different plate light.
I do know that I need to straighten out the dents fron the handle only being held in at one point for atleast 7 years.

Not the final cut. I just wanted to get an idea of how it looked.

Working on the "skeleton" for the floor. I got a bunch of rubber feet that are going to go between the floor and frame so it can be a flat floor bit still have full support. Trans tunnel arches should be here on wed and then Ill join the two halves together. Went with 1"x.120" DOM for the arches so that it will give enough support to mount the tunnel to and act as a driveshaft loop at the same time.

Time to clean the slag off and then drill some holes.
Atleast this section is square, so duplicating was easy.

Looking forward to the next step. Having a hard time visualizing. Not gonna put too much effort into it since I know you will have us some update pics in the near future.

    Later

No problem. Now Im going to make some patches/reinforcement panels for the rocker panels so I can put in the outriggers and get the floor attached to the rest of the body. Probably wont get completed til next week after the next round of rain passes.
Then, on to building the toe boards and tranny tunnel.

Worked on the hitch a little bit. Got the brackets cleaned up and trimmed down.

I thought the removable fenders were on the trailer, not the car. :pccoffee:

They are. And it is very nice to be able to walk on them without having them collapse. The fenders were off the car in that picture because i was getting the alignment done and it was a PITA to reach the suspension with the fenders on.

The 1"x.120" bends came in. Got em marked for how much I will shorten them. Tomorrow I'll cut em down and get a hole saw to put the holes in the rails for them to sit in for welding.

Got some holes drilled and the bends cut down to size.

Starting to build templates. This is the tailshaft/driveshaft tunnel template.

I have a bunch of them. Works for what I need. When they stop working, I toss them in the trash and grab another out of the cabinet.

    Same.
I got a bunch of those multi meters as well. My Fluke meter got the battery pulled years ago. I never worry about the HF meters hitting the ground.

I have some also, but still use my Fluke. HF DMMs get used by people who need to borrow one or come over to work on their own stuff.
