    So without making a new thread, I'll jump into this one with my question;

I have the same Fox 2.5 ext. travel coilovers and want to adjust them. I see this guy had 3 inches of thread showing and Fox said that was fine. I think I'm at about 1.5-2 inches of thread showing. I need to raise mine a bit to correct some rubbing issues temporarily. I've read multiple threads where people have said you can adjust them by jacking up the front, loosening the set screw and using a punch or screwdriver to adjust the collar. Some other people say that you need to take the coilover completely off the truck to safely adjust them. Another person said to use a spring compressor on the truck but then another guy said a spring compressor wont fit around the Fox coils. I'm getting mixed responses to the question :\ Can anyone chime in, I really don't want to hurt myself or my investment.

    Thanks!

Buy the Fox spanner wrenches, while a bit expensive, you will not damage the preload/backup rings. You can tighten them while installed on the vehicle.(jacked up off the ground) but you must remove the coilover to loosen them.(at least with the reservoir version)

Whoops, set screw must be a newer version, same idea without the backup ring.

No remote reservoir on there, just the coilover with SPC UCA's. So you think its safe to jack up the front, loosen the set screw and try to tighten down the collar?

    I did.
Jacked it up and was able to turn the collar. I used a spanner wrench. Not sure if I would have tried this using another tool. Just throw some wd40 on there and it'll spin...not easy..but it'll turn.

Any of you guys have issues with the threads on the collar rusting, or any part of your 2.5's?

Much easier with a right size (8 mm) punch than with spanner. At least in the newer (one ring) version. With or without the resi, no matter.

I just went to install the rear shocks. The bushing steel sleeves are longer than the rubber bushings. Is this normal? I would assume it would be flush

The Fox rear shocks come with different size bushings in the box. Just swap them out.

    My measurements:

Driver: 23" from hub center to fender, 2" of treads showing.
Passenger: 23" from hub center to fender, 1" 9/16 of treads showing

I'm probably going to crank a little bit more to get 24" even.

How are you guys setting up the blue and gold knobs for street driving? I'm having a hard time understanding what I have to do exactly.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Low speed vs high speed is in terms of piston speed. Low speed will take care of the city driving and body roll type of stuff. The high speed is for big bumps / holes.

I run two separate settings for off road and one for on road. I'd like to say on road I'm still 4LS-6HS. I'm also lighter than most rigs so I don't need to crank it.

Sorry to revive an old thread. D.W.B what did you end up cranking your coilovers to?

I'm currently where you started at:
Driver: 23" from hub to fender with 2" of thread
Passenger: 23" from hub to fender with 1" 9/16 of thread as well.

I'm also looking to get up to 24". Was thinking about going to 2.5" of thread on the drivers side and a touch less on the passenger side. Been using a punch so far but one hole is getting ovaled, so I was thinking about picking up the fox spanner wrench. I heard the fox spanner wrench won't fit well in the bucket if you have the reservoirs? Have you guys had better luck with the spanner wrench?
