Lol. I remember... wasn’t trying to thread jack this btw... y’all are spending a lot of personal/professional time to make it work. I know price point is big especially for you. But think of it like this. If you were to swing a tent for $1300 right. I’d be willing to bet that in 2 years if you decided you didn’t like it you could get $1000.00 for it. Meaning you just future proofed an investment spending less than you would have on the SC Tent. I think that has more to do with going to a big manufacturer than worrying about upfront costs. Obviously the assembly and customer service/protections etc. but I think it carries some weight in my eyes.

Eh...I see a lot of name brand tents go for as low as $700. I think with the popularity of RTT's there is a lot of supply in the used market. No worries about thread jacking, I appreciate everyone chiming in with a solution or alternative.

You can’t get your hands on one of those? Or are you just to committed on this? I can’t find anything on a summit series, ruggedized or Treeline for under $1500.00. Materials are way different especially in the base

Totally agree the end goal is getting everyone a RTT at a price point that they can be comfortable with and I for one do look at resale value so keep that in mind. Just sayin!

700 used I should say, and yes I can get one, but this price point was better new.

Thanks guys for y'alls hard work. Received my refunds.

Tuff stuff does have good reviews, just as smittybilt, Tjm and several others at the 900 range. As we all know, most are from the same manufacturer with small differences.

I was going to go with tuff stuff until this thread.

Also, smittybilt has their 2-3 man tent for 899 with free shipping, as does the tuff stuff tent.

I really like tree line tents however price is issue for me and wouldn't be able to participate.

I suggest a poll to see who wants to stay in and wait 2-3 months or start new thread with possible new rtt vendor and stay stateside.

Not that it matters that much, but the decimal point got moved over one spot too much. $240/ 55 people is $4.36 per person.

Now if we can just get Sunday campers on board with using an escrow service, I think we’d all be golden

Yea... I didnt care to check the math. 5$ more is fine too. IDC. I'm def about price point and have no intentions on selling this RTT in the future. So I am not looking at resale value. I am looking at buying a tent and using it till I can't. There's a reason I have "broke" in my username. lol.

I don't doubt the treeline is a great tent. If my daughters were grown and gone, I would likely take a hard look at them if I was just getting a tent for me and the Mrs. But seeing as how my daughters will be a round a little while still, I need more space than just a 1 2-3 man tent. So, it is just a lot to swing right now with 1 daughter in college and 1 who will be driving next year. With the sunday camper tents, I can get 2 for about the cost of 1 name brand, and then sell the other when it's no longer needed. Heck, maybe even sell both later on and upgrade to a nicer name brand. I had planned to get 1 and build a teardrop, but with the cost so low, I went ahead and sprung for a second rtt so I can just build a simple camp trailer instead.

I appreciate all the work everyone has put into this. Hopefully SC will feel comfortable with an escrow deal, and if not, maybe another tent co will be able to get us something in the ballpark. I'm ready to ride this bitch down into the dirt to find out. So, I'm not jumping ship yet.

I also think if I swing a $600 tent in 2 years you could about bank that i could get at least $400 out of it as well. If not more if its good quality.
