So I know this is a longshot, but I can’t afford to make a road trip and i’m wondering if anyone has an idea of how I could get this camper shell to California.

    https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/pts/d/leer-topper-for-2nd-gen/6355334788.html

I’ve had no luck finding a match here due to how rare the color is and I can’t afford to buy new. Trying to ship seems complicated and expensive but I thought I would throw this out here in case anyone knows a less expensive way to make it happen.

    Any ideas?

*With the cost of the camper itself being a reasonable $450 I could see paying up to $250 for shipping/frieght

I wish they still made that color.

You know any teenagers with a truck that it could "kinda" fit on? If I had a reason to go to ATL I would try to help you out.

Edit: just realized your in CA, not TN. I got nothing. Good luck.

Your best bet is probably shipping, as there's not much else. And as someone who works with freight companies daily, you would definitely be looking at around $250+. As long as the condition is good, it is still less than buying a new one! Not a bad choice

I did that just after making this post. Also requested a quote from freightshippingpros.com but haven't gotten any responses yet.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if getting it as low as $250 was even possible. I'll just have to wait and see what kind of quotes come back.

some of this, a little of that
Do you work for a company with a national freight account with say fedex/ups/any LTL carrier? We let our employees use our corporate freight numbers for shipping and that way they are paying our cost.

I work for a sign company that does a lot of it’s own fabrication, so we get large shipments of metal, etc. on a regular basis. Great suggestion, thank you!

Doesn't Fastenal do pallet shipping too? Or did they move away from that?

My company also has a Fastenal account, but when I spoke with our purchaser it sounded like it would be more work than he was interested in doing. I only got one quote back from uShip at $600, so I think it’s pretty clear now that wasn’t going to work out (unless I could make some kind of road trip which would have been fun!).

Yesterday I found a great deal on a shell locally. The price was good enough that I will be able repaint it, so I went for it. I just have to deal with looking like this for a little while:
