For anyone looking to replace or add to their RTT mattress, I just came across a couple memory foam mattresses on Amazon each for under $20.

I'm not vouching for these. Buy at your own risk. Reviews are good. Seller could be suspect. China based. And delivery isn't expected until late Nov/Dec.

Question for you guy's that have RTT's that have to be put on and taken off after your outings.

I currently store my RTT at the top of my garage with an electric hoist and it works perfectly. The problem is my truck sit at 6'1 and the RTT mounts to the top of my cab. My garage opening is only 6'6" or something like that so backing the truck in and loading it on is not an option. I would leave it on for good but my parking desk at work is just as low as my garage.

In the past I've just called friends to help me load and unload it but that is just a pain for them and my wife is just to small to help. What solutions have you guy's come up with to help. I've talked to a few welders about building a hoist to place outside but I really don't want to send $400+ so something to take a tent off a truck.

    Thank for any advise.

I've had good success with the one man roll on / roll off method. When not on my truck, the RTT stands on a wooden dolly off to the side of the garage.

I could do it that way but I don't want to F-up my cap and I would have to take the bars off each time because that is whats used to hold it up in the garage.

    Thanks for the advise.

Looks like I may be taking over my buddy's RTT for the next year... My 23 Zero Bundaberg will be up for grabs. Delivery can be arranged if you live along this route (updated):

I went on a road trip from LA to Santa Fe, NM. Three out of four bolts came off entirely from the rail brackets that held the tent down. My wife noticed the tent at an awkward angle in the freeway and I had to stop and put some ratchet straps down to get to town to fix it. I contacted Tepui and they were helpful but never heard of that problem. I got some new bolts and wrenched that shit as hard as I could without breaking the fiberglass flooring. Now it’s fixed but I ratchet strap the front and back for some extra stability when traveling long distances just for piece of mind.

Nylon lock nuts with lock tight should solve that. I’ve been on some pretty bumpy washboard roads for extended periods without having those rail mounting nuts loosen.

Mine is the same, I need to get pictures to them, I also have some pin holes in it at the top. I had it out in a good rain 4 weeks ago and got water in the tent.

I upgraded my Smittybilt hardware to class 10.9 bolts and genuine nylock nuts with a dab of blue locktite. Doesn't matter what brand of RTT, they all come with shitty low quality fasteners that stretch and imitation nylock nuts that crumble and won't hold tension.
