Are there any bumpers with swingouts that leave the rear camera unobstructed? I think every one that I have seen obscure it with the tire. I am hoping to find one that leaves the camera usable and can hold a tire plus a couple of gas/water cans.

I can't think of any....if the tire wasn't obscuring the camera it would end up obscuring one of the tail lights I would think regardless of which side the tire was mounted on.

Yeah, i havent found one either. Did some rough measuring and it would be near impossible. There are a few bumpers that keep the factory sensors though.

There was one person on here who had fabbed up a custom hinged/swing out spare tire carrier that actually mounted in the bed or on the bed rail somehow and swung the tire up and over the bedrail to the side of the truck if that makes sense. I had saved the picture somewhere but not sure where it went.

Or if you're like me -- don't bother relocating anything....I drove for years without a backup camera and while the new tech is pretty awesome it's not totally necessary.

Good point. Metal bumper makes me less nervous about backing into things on the trail. Im kind of shocked i havent ripped the plastic on off. Ive caught it on things a few times

i'll try to remember to get a picture tonight but I have the @CBI Offroad Fab dual swing arm, while it does block the peripheral view you can still see directly behind you for lets say a trailer hook up... I didn't see it being worth re locating the camera but if you really wanted to I know @Pelfreybilt sells a relocation mount if you really wanted to go that route...

That is exactly what I am looking for, what is directly behind me. If you can get a picture of the view and of the rig, I would appreciate it. For what its worth, this is to go on a 2ndGen (2014).

mine is a 3gen so im not 100% sure it will be compatable... contact CBI and they would be able to describe much better or someone on here that has a dual swing arm from them for their 2gen... most guys running the dual swing arm are 3gen since its part of their T3 line up...

You have a hookup for the hitchgate? I’m still not sure if I want to go that route or full dual swing out bumper. Price will probably decide for me.

Reviving this thread - can you snap a pic of your camera on your dual swingout? I have mine on order and wondering how to relocate my camera. I have a DCLB with dual swingouts and jerry can holders, so my truck will really be a trail limo....

I haven’t relocated mine or anything. Keeps the peripheral view a little tight but still works for the main reason I use it for, which is just distance judgement. Otherwise I used my mirrors and neck flexibility lol

Only option I can think of is the Pelfreybilt relocation mounts... I didn’t want to relocate due to having the wires exposed to elements and thenopen hole in the tailgate camera location. I think you’ll be fine without relocating it
