Had my hands on a '07 Toyota Avalon today. Auto up and down for both front windows. Switches look just like a double cab Taco. Anybody have access to an Avalon that they can take apart? Obviously the panel is different but maybe the switches are similiar. Would be really cool if the switch assembly mounted and plugged right in. image.jpg

Cool idea. Would be a good mod if someone had access to the parts.

Subbed, next time I hit the junkyard I'll see what I can find. My suspicion is that the auto feature is controlled by the body ecu not the switch itself however.

The BCM doesn't control the power windows on the 2nd gen Taco. I soldered the relay contacts on my PW relay so that they work all the time. I've had my PW master switch assembly apart. There's a relay box on the circuit board that does the auto down. I'm guessing that the Avalon circuit board has 4 of those relay boxes.

What about just replacing the PW switch with a DW switch? Would that work?

There's more to it than just the switch. The 2nd stage of the switch energizes the relay box which maintains power to the window motor til the relay senses high current draw and then it shuts off.

Is that all stuff someone could add to make it work? Or is it to complex to make work?

Well, after a bit of looking around on the net, I found all kinds of posts about reseting the power windows on 06 and 07 Avalons after disconnecting the battery. So apparently the BCM controls the power windows on the avalon. So, it appears the Toyota decided that 1 window auto down, just throw some circuitry into the switch assembly, but 2 windows, both up and down, let the BCM handle it. Sorry to give everyone false hope.
