Bed Extender 3rd Gen vs 2nd

    Working on it.
    I want to install a Amp moto bed extender in my truck but it says that model only fits the 2nd Gen. My 2011 bed looked identical to my 2017. Any one have any experience with this?

    Used to have a 2017 Barcelona Red TRD Off-Road DCSB 4x4
    Did you buy it already or want to buy it? If it says 2nd gen then you may need different brackets.

    I installed the AMP Research BedXtender HD Max (part #
    $330 74811-01A | Fits 1998 - 2017 Nissan Frontier; 2005 - 2022 Toyota Tacoma; 2000 - 2006 Toyota Tundra Crew Cab
    74811-01A) and didn't need anything extra.

    I love the Max model. A lot of extra room. Just be careful with the templates provided. They are not printed to exact scale and are a little off. Go online and print your own before you start drilling. Compare the template with the brackets before you start.

    Oh, and don't forget to account for the thickness of the bed mat. I didn't and almost touch when I close the tailgate.

    I did not buy it yet. Just been looking on Amazon and the Amp site. Looks like it will work. Amazon said it would not fit, and Amp did not have that model listed under 2017. Thanks guys!

    I've noticed Amazon's vehicle sizing is always off on products.
