Went today for the first time and had a blast! Sorry for the semi blurry pics, IOS 11 doesn't like sending pics to my Samsung Note 8.

Chestnut Mountain Rd/Auger Hole Trail. I love that area.

Did you get all the way to the end at the NC/SC border, and did you try the gate? I need to get back up there to see if the gate opens.

There are some offshoots that, if open, offer some additional riding that is a bit more rugged.

No, we went to the bridge, ate a snack, took some pics and headed back. I tried to talk to 3 jeeps in front of us but they kept the trail hot. I had read it got really rough past the bridge but others have also said it's not bad. I just bought a Go pro so now I can film my rides. :)

It does indeed get rough past the bridge. That is really the only part where you need to engage 4wd.

Area is partially shut down due to a massive landslide currently. :(

Had a great time with my son. Explored some side trails and had lunch on the shores of lake jocassee. To top it off made it up a little loop trail next to the iron bridge that a cherokee on 35s couldn't. Dude couldn't drive for shit. Lmao

    Couple pics

You get on chestnut mountain Rd. In gorges St. Park. Drive to turkey pen gap, where there will be a few gates and you get on auger hole Rd. Go maybe a quarter miles and the road to jocasse will be on the left. It's called bear Creek camp Rd. But I didn't see any signs. If you see the new gate and sign for the toxaway game lands you've went to far. The turnoff would be hard to miss though.
