depending on the model its either from mexico by train or from texas (which if comig from mexico goes to a central location in east side of new mexico, I think clovis, nm), where as the tundra is done in texas and goes by train also but since it doesn't have to come from the west side of the usa, its a tad bit faster to get to Kansas city (which is my distribution port for my region). there are 11 regions/ports for the Toyota usa excluding GST/SET zones.

edit : once it gets to a regional port, its transported by semi to each dealer.

 

Thanks. Im pretty sure mine is coming from Texas. I input a couple of VINs of almost the exact same trucks on Toyotas website and they all said Texas for my combination. I just wish Toyota let you track deliveries online like Jeep.

 

Got a 12/3 build date for 2018 dclb Trd offroad 4x4 model 7568 with tech/premium pkgs. Previously ordered 7172 dclb but it was canceled twice, then was scheduled to built in July. Dealer and myself were told it was going to be 2018 by GST, but once Vin was released it showed a 2017. The dealer let the truck continue and it was kept as dealer stock.

 

Your dealer let you order the config you want? When I was talking to my dealer, I was told the only option right now is to request a dealer swap and keep my fingers crossed.

 

Yep we checked to see if it was available and able to be allocated. He thought I wanted Cement and did not think they were available, while checking on a MGM, we saw Cements, Quicksand, White, Silver all available.

At what point do they generate the VIN number? Is it only after production?

 

yes sorta, the computer already has the vin created. but until its actually QC checked and validated as a sellable vehicle will the vin update into dealer daily allocation system.

as a side note if last 6 digits of the vin has an alpha character in it, its a placeholder vin.

 

Yes. It looks like it is in fact a placeholder VIN. I guess I should just have them check dealer daily a few days after the build date. PS you are so much better informed than the dealer. They literally look at me like I am the first person who ever put a deposit down on a yet to be built but allocated vehicle. I asked them about getting me some accessories at cost considering Im doing significant business with them already and their prices on things are offensive.

just to let everyone know, there is a $95 disparity between the list I have for pricing and the press release pricing. the list I have is from the Denver region and the press release is directly from Toyota usa.

 

The grills on the new off road are definitely an upgrade in looks. I think anyway. I wonder if there will be aftermarket grilles now that somehow retain the radar unit for the cruise control.

How can I confirm if the TRD Off Road Manual Transmission comes with the premium package?
