I have a 98 tacoma sas that is almost done. I ordered a arb 4.88 third member and I found out I have a 8.4 inch rear housing. So I called and basically got nowhere. My question is what rear axle could I use so I could drop my third member in and be good? Any help is appreciated.

Itll fit pre Tacoma rear axles with an 8in diff. I may be interested if you want to part with it for a decent price.

So I would just need wheel spacers?

I'm not really interested in selling the arb third. It matches my front.

Buy a diamond housing for the rear and run the 8".

You can put a non-locking rear housing off of a third gen 4Runner in for cheap if you are willing to blast off all the brackets and weld on new perches.

a 2016+ auto non locking rear axle should work. Those went back to the 8" for some reason. It uses the ARB RD-132 Locker
