A 1987 or 1988 Toyota Celica 5-speed convertible, and a 1992 or 1993 Lexus LS400; Both owned by the same family! They've had the Celica since new (not sure about the Lexus)!

I cannot believe these could be considered "Old School" now, but the newest first gen RAV4s in North America are almost 18 years old as of this post! I was 7 years old when the RAV4 debuted in the United States, and I first saw one at a Toyota dealer here in Pennsylvania in about April or May of 1996, when my dad looking at buying a new 4Runner...

There are two of these I see regularly in Doylestown Borough; a black 1995ish "Nighthawk" coupe with automatic, A/C, and alloy wheels; and this blue 1992-1993ish base model coupe that has seen better days...

The 1991-1998 Tercel definitely has its share of shortcomings, but in my opinion it is one of the most reliable and well-built cars ever to be sold in North America!

I've never driven one myself, but problems I've heard of include so-so handling, cart-like ride quality, anemic acceleration, and lack of certain features.

However, when you get past all that, what you've got is a basic and reliable car that will probably still start up, run, and drive after a nuclear war...

This car is a stick shift and is about as basic as they come: I believe it has A/C, but note the lack of a side-view mirror on the passenger side...

    image.jpg image.jpg

As much as I can't stand PA state inspections, it always irks me when people let their cars get this far past the expiration date (The pictures were taken the day after Thanksgiving!)...

How do you find all these old daily drivers in PA?! When I lived there anything over 10 years old was rusted to hell and headed for the junkyard.

I don't know LOL. There's a ton of old cars in Doylestown! There's also a customized Suzuki Samurai I see from time to time.

I think that motoring public around here is rebelling against the new "technologically advanced" vehicles...

The 85 I picked up a few pages back lived it's first 12 years in Florida and then came to PA where it was a camp truck and was parked in a semi trailer. Never inspected in pa and never saw salt on the roads. Pretty tough funding a solid one in the rust belt.

Dude. New wheels and tires and a beefier bumper and that truck would be RAD.
