I've used mine for the following:

    - cell phone charger
    - digital camera battery charger
    - cordless tool battery charger
    - angle grinder
    - dremel
    - blender to make margaritas while camping
    - R/C battery charger

I would like to do the mod to have an outlet in the cab...

Bug deflecter, vent shades, Airaid Intake, Pop 'n lock, replaced chrome bumper with black bumper, replaced chrome grille surround with a black grille surround, blacked out logo in the front, debadged, center console lock, grom audio mp3/ipod,weathertech digital liners
durning a 3 day power outage I ran an extension cord from the garage to a power strip and had the turtle tank filter and the fish tank filter running.

Custom body work...boat trailer came of hitch, hit tailgate and Rammed stick thru lower valance while towing boat....hmmm, Maybe I should get a new boat?!?
Used the 110v (115V) in bed outlet for:

    1) recharge cell-phone (run an extension cord to cab)
    2) keep kids DVD player running and charged on extended trips
    3) charge Dewalt and Ryobi drill/sawzall/5" skil saw batteries
    4) will not run my pancake compressor, worm drive Skil saw, or shopvac

I think it more a sales gimmick than a useful outlet; I mean all the things it does do can be charged/run off 12v (DC) with the right connector/charger.

Why do so many people use the 115 VAC in the bed of the truck to charge their cell phones? Don't you have a regular 12 VDC charging adapter for INSIDE the truck when driving?

I was thinking that too, seeing as how it gets posted at least a few times in every inverter thread.......
I think the outlet is geared towards outdoors people, not those that do not want to purchase a $20 phone charger.....:D

    Rain Visors,
hahaha i constantly think that. The charger is 10 bucks for the cigarette lighter. I have NO use for that inverter, but i wanted the locker so i got the outlet.....I have 2 phone chargers a dash light and GPS all running INSIDE the car, do you charge it while driving? what if someone calls im confused...

FYI i used it over the winter to power a wreath hanging on my tailgate....

Had my son's christening today. The wife made some food for the party afterwords. I used the outlet to run the crockpot and cook the food as we drove there. It reminded me of my Buddy's hotdogger on his snowmobile. Cooking food while driving.

I tried running sawsall and some other tools. Sawsall ran and worked under small cutting load, but when load increased it quit. Eventually gave up and ran power from the house.

So one Monday night a couple years ago, the power goes out....right before the Steelers are to play on MNF. I was ticked. Just bought a new 42" flatscreen and got the HD hooked up. About 10 minutes before the game, I remembered I had a 4-wheel drive generator in the garage. I opened the garage door 3", hooked the hose from my shop vac to the exahust, routed it outside, fired up the Taco, plugged in and ran an extension cord to the TV from the bed of my truck. I was a hero for the diehard Steeler fans on the block. Cell call went like this:

Me: Mike, I've got my TV up and running, call Ryan and come on over.
    Mike: Dude! You have power!!!!????
Me: Naw, I've got a TACOMA!!!

    LOL!!!

i use mine to power my air compressor that is rated at 3.5 amps. does a great job when done wheeling and needing to quickly air the tires backup when done with the trails. I also use to charge my portable jump starter. I also charge my drill to lower my jacks on my camper when we go camping and running my electric cooler. I love it and use it often.

My netbook has a REALLY long cord on the battery charger. I plug it in the bed and run the cord through the back window so I can rest it on my son's lap in his car seat. I bought a season of Dora the Explorer on itunes and he didn't make a peep during a 15 hour drive to Mississippi - that show is like baby crack.

ive used it for little things. i've never tried anything big on it, its very handy when you need it for something quick or when your away from a power source.
