I am getting ready to order my billy 5100 and ome 885 and a 2"AAL. My worry is in the install. I have read alot of post about a new vibration, or shake or chuck. I really dont want to mess my truck up by doing this lift. My question is, how hard is the install? Is it easy to mess up? Will I need new UCA if im only going up 2.5"? Will I need a diff drop? Alot any progress pics or videos would be a huge help! thanks everyone!

5100s, 886, super bumps, Deaver progressive AAL, u bolt flip and timbren bumps. 295 70 17 Falken MTs.
I put in a wheeler's 3 degree axle shim and the carrier bearing drop on my 2nd gen and it helped get rid of the driveline bump and pretty much all vibrations. I do have a diff drop in the front as well, not sure how "necessary" it is though. You don't "need" a UCA either but it is definitely a good idea.

If you're truck is a 4X4, the vibration you're referring to is often caused by the needle bearings after you lift the front. The higher you go, the more likely you'll have to deal with this eventually. Some never have problems, and some have issues stock. Toyota screwed this up. Search "ECGS needle bearing" for some light reading...

You might as well do the ECGS bushing at the same time. That's what I'm going to do whenever I lift mine. That is if your truck is a 4x4.

    5100's w/885's up front, 5100's w/AAL out back
Unfortunately you never know until you do it. I didn't want to risk driveline vibes or any of that so I went with 5100's and 885's with an AAL and brand new leafs in the rear. Works for what I need.
