Nothing teaches quality like a pita! Experts go through 10,000 hours of this kind of thing to get to be where they're at - looks like you're making progress! lol

Since I'm out of school for a few weeks I finally had some time to get some work done on the truck. I retubbed my driver side and resealed it up I'll have pictures of that tomorrow. I also changed the oil and installed a blue sea fuse box to clean up the wiring even though it's still not great. I also added a diff breather and the biggest was the winch install today.

I'll have some better pictures of the truck tomorrow to upload.

Gonna make a snow run next week since I got the trucks mostly squared away for now. Hopefully I don't have any water leaks into the cab.

Got out the other day to find some snow but didn't find much besides some water crossings. Truck held up well though.

Regarding the Bump stops, do you think they are too tall? And how did you get the old ones out. Mine seem to just spin...

I think they’re fine. There probably twice the size of the old one but I haven’t had any issues but I’m no suspension guru at all. I used a big set of pliers to crack them loose just like a bolt and spun them until they came out.

I haven’t had any issues. No police issues so far and I’ve got like half a tire out the fender. But I broke mine on the rubicon so there not going back on anyways.

Yeah they can. Your probably in the city more than me so idk how they’ll feel about it down there but I’ve had no problems so far and I drive past Folsom police all the time and I’ve had a few chp behind me and they never paid attention. Plus my license plate hangs on my skid plate facing the ground so.

Anybody have a recommendation on gear sets for the axles such as brand and where to get them? Thinking about a regear instead of an atlas for now. I don’t think I wanna spend that kind of money right now.

No experience with either. I'm going to get an assembled clamshell from ECGS for my front and probably the master rebuild kit from justdifferentials with the TJM air locker. Call up a couple off-road gear shops and see what they have to say - they'll have a lot more experience than the average truck enthusiast.

    Or go local.

Jaws gear and axle. Paid a pretty pennie for drop off and turn key. But it was nice. Good warranty too

One of my dads friends does transmission and gear stuff so he’s gonna do it. Just waiting to hear from him on what gear connections he has.

I'e got 4.88 nitros installed in my rig. No complaints so far. Did the 500 mile fluid change, and no shavings or signs of diff failure, so that's kinda cool.

Threw an ARB in the front while I was there, haven't
Had a chance to use it yet. Hopefully some snow wheeling soon. You WILL not be disappointed with the regear. Best money spent ever.

You bet. Only way to do it, really. Bad practice if you dont. You'll be overgeared a bit with 5.29s. I'm overgeared a bit with the 4.88s but love it. You are a 5spd, right?

    Edit: I'm on 33s
