So my hard shell CVT came off today. Spoke to Bobby about a week ago. He is amazing. Down to swap it for a Mt. Shasta, so Im going back to a soft tent. Shell/bedrug coming off tomorrow. Truck gets detailed and RCI bed rack is going up... Time for a facelift. lol

So, if anyone if SoCal is interested in a white Leer 100XQ in great condition, hit me up.

I use some cheap fairy lights.

Have them strung up along the interior perimeter. They're not bright but enough light to play cards or whatnot and are rather peaceful. Just leave them in there when it's packed.

    Hello,

I'm trying to find all info about RTT for my truck. I've found that I need something like Tepui Autana XL. But the problem is weight/load. Regular one is about 150, ruggedized is 200+. The shell/cap load is 200(dynamic, as I understand), heavy one - 500, but the price up.
So, what can you recommend me in this case? I need to choose shell for RTT on it. Now I have stock truck.

    My ideas:
    1. regular shell + lightweight RTT = less price, less durability(but maybe it's enough?).
    2. regular shell + custom frame inside + rugg RTT = more price, more durability(need to bend tubes or do stuff, but have no workshop/garage).
    3. heavy shell + rugg RTT = much more price, excessive durability.

For 2nd case - need to make custom tubed frame in the shell to support rails on the roof. This can be a problem, but not bad.

Another question is about mounting RTT on the rails. I don't want to put roof rack on top of the rails. I want to use 3 of 8020AL on top of the rails and mount RTT on it. Is it totally crap idea or will work?

I think you will be fine with an regular shell and a regular RTT. I had 4 adults and 2 inside of my Mt. Shasta playing cards all night.

As far as mounting the t-slot bars directly to the rails.... How are you going to do that? And how are you planning on mounting the RTT to the T-slot bars without having enough clearance to stick in your hand?

Nothing from the interior. Only this pic through the window. You can only see one side but they're long enough to run the entire perimeter. The control rests on the mattress but they come with a remote too

Giant footprint mostly. Also, this is the first production run, so it has a number of issues that CVT already addressed and I was waiting on a replacement shell. But I decided to ditch the camper all together go back to a soft shell on a bed rack. I have a place to store it when not used. Giant fiberglass tent not so much, so I just asked CVT to swap it for a soft one instead of bringing me a new hard shell. If you search this thread for my posts, you fill find the things that I didn't like about hard shell.

    Thanks for the answers.

About T-slot bars. It can be drilled on the edges and mount to the rails by using T-nut, threaded stud and regular nut with big washer on top of it. RTT has two bars under the bottom as a set and these bars has T-slots(should be but not sure) to be mounted to regular roof/bed rack system. T-nut, threaded stud, angle plate and regular nuts and bolts can be used to mount these RTT bars by crossing on T-slot bars. T-slot bars has T-slots on each side. So, one mount point may consists of two sets of angle plates. It is just a theory.

Outside I use some cheap 99 cent Christmas lights and inside I use the Eno Hammock string light.

That looks really good! The ENO string lights was what I was thinking of getting since I hammock for when I backpack so it can go double duty. Are those Xmas lights battery operated too?

i got a telescoping ladder on Amazon and need to figure out how to replace my sliding ladder.

from what i can tell the only difference between the amazon Ohuhu ladder and the one CVT sells is the bracket on top of the RTT ladder.

any ideas for how to connect this?

If I see that correct, the ladder you got is for a hard shell. Not sure if you can make that work.

I think it's actually a generic telescoping ladder. Not really meant for any RTT.

I'd look around Fastenals website, might find something useful there.
