I have a damaged chrome grill (and glued by former owner) for sale. I took it off days after my purchase and replaced it with a sport color keyed grill. My guess is the previous owner drove into a pole or something that caused the grill to crack some in the middle of it, yet is sturdy enough to maintain its shape. He glued the emblem back on but upon inspection you can still see the cracks.

I am moving and was about to pitch the grill when I figured I'd at least throw it up here to see if anyone might want it. STL locals preferred but will ship on buyer's dime.

Can the chrome part be removed? I’m planning on doing a satoshi grill and I bought the kit already. Would love to be able to do it on this rather than hack up the grill i have now.

I have heard of people stripping the chrome paint off. But before I can answer your question, can you share a picture of said kit? Keep in mind that the crack in this grill goes deeper than just the chrome fascia.

It’s a homer taco mesh grill kit I bought here on the forum. I have my MGM grill, there’s no way to swap the two pieces huh?

Oh, well the grill insert (black piece that also houses the Toyota emblem) can easily removed (I think) from the surround/colored portion of the grill. I think it is just a matter of unclipping the insert; shouldn't any hacking or cutting involved. I am sure there are others here who know how to describe it better for you.

That grill insert is what I need, I want to cut out the center and insert the mesh. You think I’ll be able to swap my MGM painted surround on to it when it’s finished?

@HomerTaco sorry to bother ya would appreciate any advice

If it’s just the outer chrome surround that is damaged you’ll be fine. They swap easily.
