I’ve got the old Dakar Pack (called HD now I think) with the D29XL AAL in it. Saggy ass before the AAL...back to where I should be now. No regrets...but if I didn’t have all the weight, I imagine it would be ass up and stiff. The 2.5 shocks with a proper valve helped a lot too (vs the 2.0 I had previously).

@rogs6266 has same Dakar Pack as I but without the AAL.

Yep . That's what I'm running 63s with 14" travel shocks and love it rides smooth and holds the weight

No argument there, 63s got that flex too for those 14s. Money is in the fab and new shocks, 63s are relatively cheap. If I had the help with fab since I have no damn clue what I would be doing I sure as hell would've done that!

I'm running the Bilstein 5125 I think for the rear cost 160 for the pair and SOS Concepts did the Fab work

Weighing all options. Cost / benefit will likely drive this. Not wanting to re-fab my rear or buy new shocks.

I have the old style dakars, full pack with shell. Excelent for wheeling. Might add the extra leaf- when loaded down, I am 1/2" ass low.

I Also may need 700# coils up front.

Fancy pants over here with seat heaters... :boink:

Swap in a dakker pack and leave everything else. :notsure: I had to do something with all the extra weight (shell, slide, box, etc.) because the ass was bouncy. My next thing was to flip the top overload leaf but didn’t need to right now.

Not sure how you feel about blue, but I’ll be changing out my 700# King coils for 700# Eibachs. Already have everything I need except a set time to do it (was thinking this weekend).

Leaning dakker hd + aal or allpro expo pack

Dakkers carry 660 lb at 2.75” lift, ap expo, 500 lb at 3”. Add the aal in to dakker for +15 mm = .59” and more weight carrying. Less sag

Then do custom deavers, the cost does not outweigh the benefits there, you won't wear out springs every 2-3 years. Even the dakars start to sag after 2 years of weight and wheeling.

If I had it all to do over and the money, it's what I would've done, ride quality, plus flex, plus weight and longevity can't beat that

Have a little more preload on drivers side than what I want and Sonny at DSM suggested I try the 700# Eibach coils.

Them deavers are expensive...at least they were when I last priced them. Are they really that much better over the long term than dakkers?
