Help! Something going on with the headlights on 2002 Tacoma. Both low beams are out and high beams dont stay on. If you pull the switch towards you, they do flash, but pushing the switch away gets no light. Dash panel light doesnt come on when pushing high beams into on position either. Tried replacing steering column switch. Same thing. Visually inspected fuses, all good. Tried replacing bulbs, no luck. Any ideas? There is a voltmeter/ohmmeter here somewhere, but I cant find it.

Its my girlfriends truck so I'm not sure. Waiting to hear back from her. Any way to tell? For what its worth I found my multimeter and all the fuses tested good. No power to socket where bulb plugs in for high or low beams unless flasing high beams. Relay clicks for tail lights, but not for low or high beams. Replaced relay, still no click and no lights. Does this mean its between relay and switch I suppose?

Did the truck have DRLs? If so did you check the DRL fuse and/or possible DRL relay?

Actually, I found this wiring schematic, attached. Based on the diagram I would check the dimmer relay though that does not explain your relay not clicking.

Hey, this truck doesn't have DRL and as far as I can tell doesnt have a dimmer relay. Or if it does, it isnt with the others under the hood. The spot where some Tacomas have a dimmer is left open, and crossed out onbthe schematic on the fusebox cover.
