Its been about 3 years since I had my DMZ SUA installed and I finally wore out the old bushings. I also took the time to wire wheel the frame from the cab back and prime it with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator and then did a Final coat with Eastwood Chassis Saver. I couldn't remove the bed but I did my best with 5 wire wheels.

Not going to lie, but the project was a huge pita in the 95+ degree temps here in Salt Lake. When the SUA was installed, no one greased the bushings (cmon' Solo Motorsports). I was mainly focusing on the frame since that was starting to get pretty rusty. I greased everything during the install, and now the truck doesn't squeek at all!

    Brian,
Here are some pics. We do a lot of camping and wheeling here in Utah. I can't stand trucks with bed cages that take up the whole bed. The frame from the cab back is also boxed. I had Solo motorsports cut out the factory x-member and put a new tube one so I can still fit my 33" spare under the bed.

Same here in central ca, i literally do every type of wheeling here so I can't build a full "take up the whole bed" cage because then I lose the truck ability. I still need to bring gear and my 4 wheeler with me! . Yours looks like it's solves that while still being very stout. I will be doing something very similar when the time comes!

This is all I have unless I go outside and lower the Tire. In the first pic, you can see the factory tire "winch" and part of the new cross member (right of pic). The second pic shows the tire under the bed. I think the mounting location was shifted back from stock to allow the differential to cycle without hitting it. The tire occasionally touches the ground if I am on a very steep incline transition but it is usually only for a second. I run 255/85/16 tires (Tall and skinny 33's) the spare is also this size . If I am going on a long wheeling trip, I will also throw a ratchet strap under the spare to lock it in place. The stock tire winch occasionally gets loose.

I got the bushings from DMZ. The kit was like $50. Just bushings, no sleeves. The grease I used is called AquaShield. Its a marine grease that I have had from work. I use it on all parts when I put them back together. It hasn't failed me yet. Honestly you could use any good quality grease.

Are those stock leaf hangers? Or does the DMZ kit replace it?
