    2018 tundra platinum in BBP.

edit : several reasons on the switch.

    1. need more room in the backseat for dogs, 1 dog is ok, 2 dogs gets cramped, 3 dogs is hell in the Tacoma

    2. we are starting to look at boats and campers and rather have the piece of mind with the pulling on the tundra than the Tacoma

nah after going thru 1st gen, 2nd gen (twice I think) and now 3rd gen, I would have to say this 1st year 3rd gen was the Toyota with the most issues I have ever had. a few little minor annoyances that I never had with the other vehicles from Toyota that over the last 2 years have started to wear thin on me. not enough to get rid of it, but with the # 1 and 2 above that just made it easier to switch and before they come out with a new gen on the tundra. I've never had an issue with a 1st year on a gen Toyota ever except on this 2016 Tacoma.

Gotcha. I had a 2014 with zero issues, but I still very much prefer my third gen, most for creature comforts. I hate the tonneau cover, trans could be better, but TSB seemed to help mine. Other than that it's been rock solid. Maybe I got lucky on a first year...looking forward to the 2018.

the only issue I have ever had with a Toyota is my 1984 Cressida temp gauge on the left :) I could tap it to make it flat line or go back to center position. I think it was just a bad connection on the needle display. not that big of an issue since I could tap it to work.

don't get me wrong the wife loves the 2016 Tacoma and if it wasn't for the space for the dogs and looking into the boat/camper thing we would definitely keep the Tacoma.

just a bevy of minor annoyances really...

    1. A pillar on passenger side squeaks
    2. A arms whistle initially (solved with inserts from Toyota)
    3. transmission shifts during windy days or slight inclines (tsb helped but its still a little touchy at times)
    4. ECT mode helps but even then it shifts weird when you get use to not using ECT, shift points it seems are held longer but shifts feel weird
    5. there is a leak coming from somewhere when going thru the carwash and it only happens on a blue moon when they use the pressure washer in a certain location. have had it happen twice with no clue how they are doing it over the lasts 2 years
    6. phone charging pad is weak, not that big of a deal since we gave up on it and use a fast charger now
    7. garage door opener only available on the limited was kinda annoying, solved by having to use the retro door opener for the garage door
    8. power seats, mostly a mute annoyance, would have been nice but not a deal breaker. but it says a lot when a 20-25k Toyota has a basic power seat and this doesn't

overall we love the Tacoma and all the mods I have done to the Tacoma has made it very unique within my town (50k). hate to see it go but priorities have change that require a different truck. I still wouldn't drive anything than a Toyota.

When did you actually order the truck?

Well Toyota doesnt really do orders. They do allocations. I never actually placed the allocation request. My dealer did me a solid and searched through the database and found my truck was scheduled to be built and allocated to a dealership an hour away. They said there is no way they would do a trade so they told me to fo there and what to offer. I went to that dealership and made them an offer on the truck. They were surprised I even knew about it. They took it just the same tho. This was on 10/16. I have no idea when they actually placed the request. So I cant really answer your question. But a lot of guys on here have placed requests and can tell you what their experiences were. Typically I would say its 4-6 weeks. With the 18s just coming out it may be longer before they build the combo you want. Unless it is a common combo. Mine was not.

Shopping for a truck and here is my first offer

    MSRP 37862, For 35500

Its a 2017 trd offroad 4x4 DCLB. I saw on the first page the MSRP is 35315. There are a few add on the etune premium audio with nav but there isn't a price for that on the first page except for the offroad price which is 2360. I get 1k above or below the msrp if I include the etune or don't include it. Is there a better price for the etune package?

I noticed the dealer invoice is around 33k. But with the addons what would you expect a good deal to be?

Can anyone please tell me what navigation SD Card I would need to purchase for my 2017 Tacoma TRD off road double cab 4x4 gas engine...?
I did a search on Ebay and typed in my information and it says that the 86271 OE184 is not compatible with my truck...???
    Thank you
