Turns out the front differential I have for my 4x4 swap is not 4.30 but in fact 4.10 confirmed by counting the teeth.

Anyone have a 4.30 front diff?

Yard in town had some 4.30 diffs (saw some automatic elocker 4runners last time I was there). Gino’s Santa Cruz Auto Recycling He’s decent priced, probably $250 for a diff.

Can’t remember what the code is for 4.30. Just tell him you want a diff off a automatic 4runner with the rear locker. All autos with the locker were 4.30.

Does he have any Tacomas? Thinking of buying a rear locker axle while I'm at it.

He does, but last time I was there (2 months ago) he didn't have any locked Tacoma's. Would have picked up that diff to put in my 4runner since it's 4.10.

You can't use 4Runner lockers on a Tacoma right? Since the rear on runners use coilovers in the rear.

The 4runner diff's are all 8" so if you have a tacoma locker axle, the 4runner diff will drop right in, but won't work on the non-locker 8.4. Also they use coils in the rear, not coilovers, so the 4runner and tacoma axle are not interchangeable.

Gave them a call, didn't know if I was talking to Gino himself but he said they most likely have some. Said he would give me a call tomorrow morning.

It's weird. He asked me "Do I know you?" and said I sounded like a Tyler and knew a guy named Tyler who works with Toyotas.

Only Gino I know lives in Florida and knows diddly squat about cars
