Was wondering if this is the correct wiring for the led light bar? Was just wondering whats the other red wire close to the black wires for? Any help is appreciated!

That extra red taps into the green wire of the cargo light switch which allows the switch to light up with the rest of the interior lights. See below.

@pwalnut thank you for helping with wiring my light bar! Its looked awesome! Took roughly 2hrs to get everything done. One of the hardest obstacle was getting through the firewall. I had to poke a hole with a screwdriver and then use a hanger to guide the wiring in. Its all done!

has anyone used an add-a-tap for the interior light, found a fuse in the interior that works for this? Would rather not use a t-tap for this, or cut into the harness.. if I can avoid it.

Have a few custom touches I made on this, when I get it wrapped probably Friday, I'll post up.

Basically wanted to it to only be able to come on with high beams.

I'll post up my harness mods later.

Let me know on the add-a-tap, if anyone knows... thanks.

OK Well got this wrapped up just in time for the weekend's adventure.

I have a couple slight tweaks on the usual version I see people do here so I figured I'd share.

I wanted this to activate with high beams ONLY, but also be switched. To do that, I got an H9 extension harness from ebay for about $8. I bought the same harness everyone gets in here, but took the red wire that feeds power to the switch off the relay side, and spliced it in to the 12+ side of the high beams. Threw a 7.5 amp fuse in there for good measure. Ran that wire to the FEED side of the switch. So now the relay can only be activated when the highbeams are on!

    Make sense?

If anyone really wants, I can draw up a schematic.

Here's a pic of the H9 extension adapter:
    IMG_20171122_211843956.jpg

And my switch - installed in the center section. I tapped in to the dash light wire that feeds the Qi button. Only problem now is this switch backlight is WAY too bright...at some point I'll tear it all apart and put some blue tape or something inside it.
    IMG_20171122_211838545_LL.jpg

Tapped into the Qi wire harness... only cut I made to the factory harness!
    IMG_20171123_215941303.jpg

    Looks like it belongs there.

The cheapo light bar I got on Amazon is definitely bright.... but maybe not quite as bright as I had hoped it would be? Worthy upgrade, can't see paying $500 or whatever for a Rigid, but I'm curious now how much brighter they would be....

My buddy has a pair of rigid pods and they're pretty damn amazing. I pulled the trigger on a 32" auxbeam 5d light bar, and if they're 1/5th of the light output as the rigids i'll be happy considering that I wont use it all the time and don't live out in the sticks and need them for deer or what not.

    Nice Looking Truck

Did you do the install yourself?

Where did you mount the switch?

    Thanks!

Does anyone know if I can somehow dim my Mictunning interior switch? Is bright as heck when the headlights are on.

Has any one installed the rigid kit behind the lower grill instead of cutting and it being outside? Liking the hidden look, more so because there are many sticky fingers in the bay area.

I'd like to know this too, I've thought about taking it apart and either trying to block it somehow to do it or change the led's out for more of a ice blue
