What specifically are you concerned would happen to your Entune system? Does it even execute anything from the SD card?

I've looked at the card from my truck and saw nothing but data files. What executables are you finding on the card?

I don't disagree for software downloads you're running on something, but buying a nav card on ebay when the cards can't really be duplicated (and still function) without some expensive equipment, I'm just not seeing any real point in anyone trying to mess with the contents.

Got a flyer from my dealer today. A factory nav update disc is available for one day only for the low, low price of $189.00 if I bring that coupon in with me.

    Yeah... I'll pass.

Just some food for thought. My off road was built in 05/16 and was delivered with the 183 sd card. When I brought the truck in for service, I brought the issue of the maps update with the service tech and they put in a request to toyota. Toyota accepted and shipped out a 184 sd card. I was told the recent release is not much different from the 183 except update POI or points of interest....gas stations, restaurants, etc.

If you own a '17 and got the old map, I'd bring it up with the dealer and ask why it was delivered with an old map card when the new was available. If they resist filing a request, just pressure to try anyways. I own a '16, got the new map for free, lucky, maybe. But it should be free.

I read the card includes firmware updates. Is that working without the maps? I need an update to fix my bluetooth issues. I would prefer to stay clear of the dealer.

Garmin and trimble developed gps for the military etc originally. Then came civilian use. I have a 12 year old garmin. Plug it into the home computer and update free for life. Also can download multiple regional, offroad and trail maps that are compatible with garmin. Yes it has an internal battery and you can carry it with you. Factory installed gps that you have to get with your vehicle are expensive, pay to update, hard to use are less than worthless. Never use the built in. Always use the portable garmin or waze app. GTS Bruce

Search eBay for 'Toyota 0e185'. I only saw a couple offered and although cheaper than what you'll pay at the dealer still more than I would be willing to pay.

I got the one I post the link to earlier and works perfect. Radio identified it right away. This is the latest one. Like @lopoto said, the one you listed is an older version

    Hello everyone,

I would imagine that the software is locked to the CID of the SD card, therefore copying the data isn't good enough. In the case for @ppauly, It may have worked only because the SD card he used was a Toyota Genuine card with an acceptable CID.

To properly clone a SD card, apart from copying the data, you would need to clone the card's serial number (CID) also.
I've heard of it being done and I've also read that you can buy blank Chinese SD cards that have no CID allowing you to write your own.
The problem with the SD cards you'd fine in the store is that the cards spec defines that the CID can be written exactly once.

I'm interested in finding a solution I just don't think it would be worth all the trouble to save what like $100.....Now, if one were to say, clone a bunch and sell them on ebay, lol....it might be worth pursuing so long as Toyota doesn't come after you.

I did happen to stumble across a tool that would be useful:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/SD-card-to...ve-Password-and-Write-protection/122536650264
