Meshuggahs new album has been on repeat in the car for the commute, highly recommend.

Funny observation, this was the highest concentration of metal heads I have ever been around on a wheeling trip. I was expecting nothing but bro country being that far south LOL.

Dying Fetus anyone? Specifically Reign Supreme or Wrong One to Fuck With? Apparently I'm the only person who has heard of this band.

Also Testament is great. Love their riffage and solos and vocals. All of it.

dude, I thought the same and I'm from the South. There were a few more metal folks where I grew up (Huntsville, AL), but none anywhere else I've been. Judging from that weekend, I thought maybe it was just people who like Tacomas and wheeling liked metal... and therefore we are all the same damn people. Toyota marketing team clearly needs to play some more metal in their Tacoma ads.

took me a while to get used to as well. I play guitar so I have more of an "ear" for the guitars... and disregard the rest. Except for the epic kickpedal drumming on the Reign Supreme album. Almost always crank the subwoofer for that album.

I'm with you on this. Just about all metal I like the instruments and deal with the vocals as a nessasary evil. The norwegien bands are what I gravatate to since the songs are 14mins long with clean vocals tossed in there.

Amen. Death metal is not something you can just jump into. You have to ease into it. But if you appreciate the amazingly talented musicians, you start to really like the whole package.

And the other thing is.. metal bands are not paid much. They really have a passion for it. It's just not a business like it is with Taylor Swift and the like.

I like Hank Williams III. But it’s more old school country or maybe even kinda like punk country (if that’s a thing), with some tracks that are sort of odd genre called “hellbilly” or some shit.

I'd 100% agree that a lot of the "mainstream" country is pretty shallow especially the "Bro Country" stuff..."Hey lets put some crap out there and wear it out on the radio and do it for the $$ cha-ching"! On the other hand you look at artists like Chris Stapleton, Zac Brown etc. actually put some talent and meaning behind their music that tells a story rather than just shooting beer cans from your tree stand. My music library has a bit of every genre from Metallica, (old) Van Halen, and AC/DC to FGL, HankJr., Stapleton, and Aldean. :rockband:
That's what makes Merica Great !:oldglory:
