Honestly? I could do the "hard" trail in a PreRunner. It would involve some definite driving, but it could be done.

Personally, if it was my only ride and I was still paying for it and didn't want to take a chance of messing it up, I'd probably come in off of Briery Branch Rd (SR924).

It's an easy cruise up a forest service road.

    Screenshot_20171115-084249.jpg

About 2.5 hours to the intersection at Union Springs Rd.

I've got a prerunner, and I've been up to Flagpole twice now.

The route up past Switzer Lake (Skidmore Fork Rd/Dunkle Hollow Rd) is the easy route, and that's the route I went up the first time. I'm not exactly sure what route I took up the second time, since it was night and I was following others. I believe it was Briery Branch Rd (@Coot83 knows I think). On the second trip, we took Union Springs down (the hard way up), and there were a couple of spots that I had to be pulled up. If it had been dry, I probably would have been fine.

I'm thinking about taking a drive out to Seneca Rocks, WV this Saturday; weather permitting. Not so much to go off-roading but just to go there. Haven't been in that area for 30 years. If anyone wants to tag along, sure.

Hey guys I figured I would throw this out there...I’m selling my wheels and tires as a combo since I’m going up to dirties. The tires are 285/75/16 which have about 8k on them, but they are e rated and have a good long life in them. The wheels themselves are the toyota fakelocks in grey. The rear wheels have some rock rash on the rings, but are in good condition otherwise. I have a fresh full size spare and new fakelock that has never been used either. These will have the tpms sensors in them. Feel free to throw me a shout if interested.

Okay. Since I wasn't sure either I made plans to meet my buddy in Fredericksburg to grab dinner at around 6. I may or may not swing by after; I'm not a beer drinker.

I think there’s not a whole lot of interest in this, so I’m going to cancel and take my son to a school play for his English class. I will look at something next month around food rather than the alcohol aspect. Hope to see everyone at that one.

Cleaning up the garage... Gotta get some of this stuff out of here. Winter is just about here and I need usable space instead of the mess I have. Don't really want to ship any of this crap, so local peeps get first dibs. I have more stuff at work I need to bring home and get pictures of, stock upper control arms, and a factory tinfoil front skid.

See something you want? Make me a reasonable offer.

Driver's side TYC headlight. Only on the truck a month or so.

King 14" 600# springs for 2.5" shocks. Part number SPR3-14-600. Taco got too fat and had to upgrade to 700# ones.

Factory chrome grille. If nobody wants it, I'm probably going to just Satoshi it when I get bored enough.

Factory swaybar. No clue where the bolts went. Don't care because I'll never put it back on.

And @Choco_Taco I still have those 5100s for you whenever you want them. If you still do.

    Thanks.

Once I get these and put on the TRD Pro rear leaf assembly i picked up over the summer, I should get about 1.5” to 2” lift. Then on to my quest to get tires, the rear light brackets from @Casper66, and add the front light bar. I still have a long way to go! :anonymous:

I like the BAMF and Mobtown skid plate designs because they're are the only ones that I'm aware of that add bracing to their IFS and Transmission skids to make them stiffer. BAMF skids are 1/4" and Mobtown are 3/16", so the Mobtown skids will be a little lighter if you're worried about weight. I don't have skids, so I don't have any first hand experience but that's my 2 cents based on my observations.

I've never really looked into high clearance rear bumpers as they don't toot my horn.

I'm running Mobtown skids/sliders/high clearance rear bumper. Not a single complaint other than the slider install instructions, which is a common thing for most apparently. But if you're halfway mechanically inclined, it's not hard to figure out. After I had them on, I picked the entire truck off the ground with the lift arms under each end of the sliders and there wasn't much deflection and no creaks or pops.

Overall, I'm going to recommend them highly. I really like the design and fit of the rear bumper. And the skids are beefy. I don't have any doubt they'd do their job if I had to slide down a ledge or end up turtle style on a rock.
