Speaking of fuel mods, still no official word from OVTune if the tuner will accept larger sized injectors or not. The logical side of me says why the hell would it not, but you never know.

 

so, for the uneducated, why would there be a software limit on injector size? as far as i understand it, its just an electric solenoid, that has one side of the circuit pulsed by the ECU to control fuel flow, so wouldnt it just be a matter of adjusting the fuel tables up or down to adjust the open time of the injector, and thus the amount of fuel per cycle? or is there more black magic going on that im missing. im woefully uneducated about all of this.

 

They said it will, but that the mathmatical equation is limited somehow.

There is more to just size though. You also need, at least for standalones, dwell/dead times at specified voltages.

 

Eitherway, call them. Don't wait for a forum response.

It sort of surprises me it has been this difficult to get a reply from them about it. It's a simple yes or no answer.

 

will grease work? Thats what I think the URD install instructions say...so thats what I was going to bring.

Having an issue taking out the fuel tank. There is a black plastic cover on top of the white round fuel tank cap and lock ring...how the hell do I get that off!!!

EDIT: the tank is resting on a Xmsn jack stand, waiting to be lowered

Now I’m stuck with 1 black skinny hose connected to the pump assembly itself and the bucket...not sure which end to either cut or pull off???
If you wonna shoot me a text, I can text you a pic of what I’m talking about. SO close to being done

 

@GT7 Thanks a ton for replying insanely quick and answering that minor question. I never saw in any instructions about that black cap nor did I hear any bring it up...didnt know it was there.

Had no real issues with the physical install of the pump. Realized I didnt fully understand one or 2 parts of the install instructions for the entire job. dropping the tank isn't too bad if you the lift and a xmsn jack and 2 people (advice: take off the rear driver tire for an easier time to disconnect the filler neck and vent line back there, with a 35 in the way...took a little more time to finagle hands around to disconnect/connect those). the truck cranked once the lines were re-pressurized, let it sit for about 10 min after shutting it off to check for leaks. Upon the third crank up and ready to drive home, I experienced no sputtering/stammering, hiccups, or anything. Punched it going 30 until I got to 70 just to see any lag and still, no issues. Took about 5.5 hours all said and done with me and @Kappes03. Def wouldnt take that long if we had to do it over again. Now all that's left is the S/C install and I'll finally be "done" for a little bit!
