Passed a big 8 this morning. Hurt a bit to do it, but it was a young buck - almost certainly a 2.5 yr old. Hopefully he lives. I might be done with rifle season. 20+ mph winds today. Duck hunting tomorrow and then rifle season is over on Tuesday.

Going to need to drag out my 300 BLK pistol or Lyman GPR to fill the freezer during alternative season.

My buddy shot a nice buck earlier this week. I helped him pack it out and get it ready for processing. I'm hoping good karma is coming my way for my sit tomorrow morning!!

Well my vacation is officially over. A week straight in the woods and still didn’t pull the trigger on anything. Did have a coyote come in on me this morning but i couldn’t get on him to shoot :(

Work tomorrow, off Tuesday, off Thursday, then I have another week of vacation the first full week in December. Already can’t wait for it.

A bad day of hunting is better than a good day off work. Dec will be here before you know it Good luck:thumbsup:

Had a great weekend in the woods.

Saw 5 does and spike Friday evening.

Saturday morning, in the blind an hour before first light. 5 minutes after legal shooting light the buck I'm after comes through chasing does. With the cloud cover, I could make out a body outline and a set of antlers! Watched through binoculars as he chased them out of sight. Too dark to make an ethical shot, bummer. Sat for another 3 hours. Saw a small 8 and a spike. Lots of does.

Yesterday evening my wife came out with me to sit for the hunt. Windy as a front was coming through. Watched 2 doe and 3 yearlings for nearly an hour. Then 2 spikes joined the group. My wife enjoyed the time watching the yearlings interact. On the ride out back to camp saw nearly 10 more after legal light. All does and a small 8.

Overall great weekend and saw plenty of deer. Will be back in the stand first weekend of December to try and close the deal on the massive 8 I'm after!

Saturday evening One of the other hunters on the lease sat in the stand I was in Saturday morning and saw the buck I was after.

He has an ATN thermal scope and took these. He already got his buck for the year so he had to pass. (Sorry for the bad quality. Got pixelated when he zoomed in).
