If you are speaking of my reaction --it is Not about the truck ( I am not a buyer) --but the pis-poor advertising methodology that a seller (Toyota) puts on the web. Oh and BTW --they ARE released! people are placing their orders, and some dealers have the trucks on their lots.

Not yours specifically, but seems the last few posts gave me the impression a lot of (newer) Tacoma owners are getting a bit miffed because they can't build what they want on the website. Seems it wasn't two weeks and all we new about the '18s were the color cement and that gawd awful tater masher grill. Surely, the local dealers can give the consumer what they want.

I can't order ANY packages on the white Off Road I built on the web. Bummer, but it's not like I'm going to buy one right now anyways.

After reading a few posts I was curious and screwed around on Toyota Site too, tried to build an 18 OR Manual and it kept switching it to a damn Sport, agreed that they need to have a more user friendly website.

I found the whole process easy. I shopped around for a dealer asking what their price would be if I bought and ordered from them vs invoice. Once I found the right combination of price and distance from me, I went to that dealership. He showed me dealer daily and played around with that was available for our region. Once we found nothing available in our region, he showed me you can expand the search distance which we did for the whole country. After we did this, we easily found what I was looking for. He then showed me what each code meant as far as where the truck is in the building or delivery process. So I chose one that was being built that same day. I felt that was fitting since I signed the same day as the trucks birthdate. I was able to get them to add a couple of port installed options and I was good to go. Saved a lot of money, got to bs with a cool salesman, and got everything I wanted. I never knew they could steal a truck from another region even is what we ended up having to do. Good luck you guys on your search. Hopefully my experience helps you with know the possibilities.

Oh yeah, one last thing. Is it better to have the truck built in Texas or Mexico?

So anyways......forgive me for not reading through every post in every thread (as many folks always suggest) does this mean that eventually all models will be available in different parts of the country, such as New England?

One thing I do find comforting is that, from looking at the Cement Taco recently posted in this thread, Cement would nowhere near ruin my life. In fact, I kinda dig it.

I just took the 2018 TRD OR Premium Super White w/ the Black/Gun Metal interior package, which BTW doesn't show on toyota.com with my zip code. The asking price was $40,500. The leather interior was super tight. For some reason the seats fill different from my '17. They fill like they have a little better support on the lower back, and the back of the legs.

I couldn't figure out how to get any of the new safety jizz to work, and neither could the salesman. He couldn't figure out how to make shit work, but he also didn't know the OR came in Cement, or that the PRO Cement was discontinued. He didn't even know he had 2018's on his lot. They have a shit load of '17's to move.

The salesman also told me that b/c of the TSS-P that Toyota is telling the dealerships that they can't modify the trucks with lifts. He claims that as of today, Toyota has no plans to offer a realignment of the camera in the front windshield. Is anyone one else hearing anything like this?

I am guessing here -- and that guess is that website is somehow tied to the "already buiit" data. I would bet they are letting a person "only" "build" what they (Toyota) have built.
I know this sounds stupid, but why is many having trouble in setting up the truck they want to see and getting a price on the same!!??

I would prefer the '17, but I like the OEM leather. Like I mentioned above, for some reason the '18 seats felt better. Anyone else experience this? Not a big fan of the seat cover leather, but you can pick up a '17 for a good deal right now. Lots of them to move.

The TSS in the pro looks like it's mount below the lettering and the Faux Pro grill looks like it has a spot for it to mount.
