    What hasn't been modified?
Yea, when we built the harbor freight trailer it had to get inspected. It was a cop at a specific location that looked at the lights, gave us a new vin # and signed off on a sheet that gets turned into the DMV

If you decide to sell it, let me know. I might be interested. Got any pics I don’t have to search for?

Most recent pic I have. About a month old right after I had new BOSS 2.0 shocks installed front and rear.

Thanks! Looks good and I know it is well taken care of. My 01 is getting a little long in the tooth with 310,000 on it. Let me run it by the girl, it would be for her, but she’s been talking about a car

When I built my pickup bed trailer it was super easy. I had to make a statement that it was made from parts from around my residence. No inspections, no hassles. I live in unincorporated JeffCO so that might be why. I'll start building it into my camp trailer here soon.

Just need to find a low/no rust bed

Better to ask what I have not done.
When i built the expo trailer from the ground up we had to go to a state troopers post and have some one inspect it, the trooper literall Walked around it real fast, asked for the turn singles, and brake lights, took the deposit, went inside, came back with our inspection passed, took that paper to the dmv and they issued plates.. not nearly as bad as i thought it would be

There's a couple of forms you need regardless of the weight:
    DR2409
    DR2697

You need a State Patrol inspection for any home made trailer, they check the lights primarily and assign a VIN (that's when you need form 2697, for the CSP). Over 2,000 lbs weight has some bonding requirements I think.

The trailer base I have now has a VIN on it, but the people who abandoned it are long gone and we have no way of contacting them to get the title or any form of a bill of sale (kinda long story). I might look into what the processes to get a new title for a trailer is, but I'm not getting my hopes up anything easy.

Did you have to provide any receipts or proof that you built the trailer? Or did they look for VIN #'s to see if the truck had been stolen and then chopped up?
When I built my trailer in AZ, I was cautioned to keep receipts to prove it was not stolen.

    Was that in Denver county?

Nothing at all, no inspections, no receipts, no paperwork. Walked in with just hopes and dreams and about $150 in cash. Walked out with a VIN tag, title and tags.
