@inesshell can chime in because he has them, but I don't think that's an issue. From what I understand you leave a few PSI in there unloaded (these act as bump stops) and then pump it up accordingly

I have an ARE CX top, roof rack, batteries, fridge, tools in the bed of my 2017. Stock springs were concave. I put firestone airbags in because it was the quickest/cheapest option. A Firestone open box kit was a little more than $200 on Amazon. With 15-20 lbs air in them it rides decent. I'll get a new leaf pack for the rear and redo the front eventually, I just didn't want to replace the entire suspension on a brand new truck.

mine maintain at least some portion of air in them at all times, except when i need more up travel wheeling

with 5 psi under normal conditions, i also run daystar cradles so the bags free float

Thanks for asking the question @danteisme because I have a Leer 180 on order & just did an AAL with stock leaf pack rebuilt by a custom spring shop in my area. Prior to AAL my springs we're flat on 13 OF. The airbags look interesting noway talk to Bailey's (Spring Shop) on best course down the road. Their work gained 2.5 and the ride was so much better. I use my truck daily for a gardening landscape cleanup business.

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
the common consensus will always be get a new leaf pack over an AAL. The only exception I can think of is if you don't haul and have new stock leafs.

Another option, which is what I am considering, is to get a custom leaf pack from Alcan. They can be made for whatever load or height you need. BTW, I think the wheelers 5 and 8 leaf set up are made by Alcan.

@Blackout14 didnt you get a custom pack built in PA? Maybe he’s close enough you could check out where he had them built. I think a local spring shop is your best bet, they can build them for no lift but more load capacity without sag.

I went to a local spring shop and left after I couldn't figure out what I'd be getting for $1200.
