I think he figured out the latch on one crate and broke and bent the side of another crate. He has some separation anxiety I'am trying to work on. Hes only 6 months old and almost always has someone around. I'm gone for 13hrs a day for work. Luckily I have some great family that can help me take care of him while I'm at work. He sleeps in it great at night but the door gets shut. He will eat anything he can get his mouth on. I had just put it together and wanted him to get in it for the first time when I took the pic. It took some enticing since its so different from his last ones.

I'm happy that my husky doesn't like to escape as much as she just likes to chew anything and everything in sight. Beautiful dog and I really like that crate.

Theia. and she already has 2 crates, I dont need more. Lol

Heres the crate he broke out the side of.

And another pic of him a couple weeks ago with my buddys other dog(another mixed rescue) not shown in the previous post.
    20170922_205301.jpg

I wish he wasnt so determined to get out. I need to start waking up even earlier and walking him in the morning before I go to work instead of just at night. It might help but its so early, I already get up at 430...

Dang. That takes some determination. I have that same crate/similar crate (the one yours broke) for everyday use and she has not even thought about trying to break out of it like that. I also have a smaller one which I use for in the 4runner and trips and stuff.

I walk her a lot, but even on days that she is not able to get out much, I could never imagine her doing that. She did chew her way out of a soft crate though.

My little son of a bitch needs a lot of activity.

    Throwback Monday:

    WIN_20171120_21_51_42_Pro.jpg

She moved the crate she was in from the kitchen, twisted the door open, and chewed the couch from inside the crate.

Yeah. So, now I have her in a much beefier crate, walk her twice a day (like yourself, I'm away from the house at least 11 hours a day), spend upwards of 320 a month to have a dog walker take her out in the afternoon, and take her to the rowdiest dog parks that I can on my days off.

So far, it's all worked. Her separation anxiety is still there, but she's calmed down considerably.

We have our boy in training to be a therapy dog. He just got his CGC, and one thing our trainer taught us to help with separation anxiety, was instead of just leaving, was to turn it into a "command". We started off with saying the command word ( we use "toodles") then go outside for 5 seconds and then come right back and treat. Gradually working your way up to 1-2 minutes. They start to associate the command as "I'm coming back" not as "I'm leaving you forever".

Three months shy of 13 and still can’t get enough swimming. Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are the best.

Let me know if you want to stroll up to that spot and let the pupperinos play around. Some nice easy trails with killer views.

So i’m bringing home my wife and our first kid from the hospital tomorrow. Any tips for introducing the dogs to the baby? I’m not worried about the golden retriever, i’m a little worried about the 2 Yorkers because they are a little high strung.

They’ll feed off of your body language pretty quick and realize that the screaming pink crap factory is higher in the pack hierarchy than they are. Happens pretty quick. My dogs were immediately accepting of my son, an Akita and (my wife’s) Pomeranian. Just let them know that any negative behavior is unacceptable and they’ll treat the new addition as another you.

Plus, they’ll soon realize that the little screaming crap factory will throw them food, so it benefits them to cultivate this friendship.

Yah dude! That'd be stellar! Zoey loves other dogs and could certainly use a couple of big dogs to help get her energy out lol. Let me know when you plan on heading their next and I'll see if I'm off. I could also use some easy intro trails to get a feel for this truck and this island!

Was out of town since yesterday early morning. She hasn’t left my side. Wife thinks it’s hilarious that she is so attached. I've determined this is her "how dare you go away" look
