I get a year out my wipers here in Northern Virginia. OEM or aftermarket! The Benz has indicators on them which gives me about a year! All vehicles are non garaged. So they exposed to the elements 24/7/365. The Jeep has a dash idiot light to remind you. Is it a way for the dealer to make money, sure! But at a year they are ready!

My OEM on my 16 have sucked since new. You guys are lucky and I'm too cheap to do anything about it, lol.

I switched to Bosch after about 1 year. OEM started skittering and weren’t great in the snow last year, plus I’ve had good luck with icons in the past.

My originals started peeling off at the end at around 1.5 years. I replaced them with new blades, unsure of brand, they were a Christmas gift and I just threw them on. They are awful, during low speed operation they "skip" and "hop" cross the the windshield.

Here is the best advice for anyone, wipe the blade with denatured alcohol and BAM 1 year old blades like brand new.

Some blades that I used to buy came with a little alcohol pad so that's when I started doing that.

I've always ran Bosch Icon's on everything I had. Bought a set when I got my 17 last month, installed them, and they sucked compared to the OEM's. Returned the Bosch Icon's and put the OEM back on. I'm pretty happy with them, as OEM usually seems to suck. I'll see how they are through an Upper-Midwest winter and reevaluate in the spring. May have got a batch of Icon's with old rubber or something strange.

Hmmmm? I live up here in the PNW where we get 60" of rain a year. Never have had issues with my OEM blades? I just have the dealership replace 'em every two years. I soak a shop towel with windex ever so often to clean them. No streaks, no skips.

Replacement inserts from dealer work great and are inexpensive. Never found the need to waste money on expensive wipers. Keeping the windshield clean helps too.

I like the OEM ones a lot. My only issue with them is bugs. We live a 100 yards from the lake and anytime after dark you get plastered with bugs from May until Aug or Sept. They tend to smear them all over and I can eat through a jug of washer fluid in a few days if I am traveling into the city at night. My Dodge with cheap blades from wherever didn’t seem to be this bad.

On non bug days OEM are fantastic.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
From what I've experienced... the factory wipers were great for me. At the time I didn't know you can just get new "inserts" for them. Bought shitty Michelins. Those lasted a day before I went back to toyota for some "oem" wipers but they were different shitty ones, not the same as factory.
Ended up putting the "top of the line" Rain-x wipers on and I've been happy with them. But they cost some $ and I can't say they are 100% worth it.
