The original one I bought a few months before a Hurricane Harvey on my 2016 TRD MGM:



After the 2016 was totaled via Harvey.....got it painted with Linex (that was another $675 mod):

 

I did the same thing, black caps instead of chrome. I bought mine from a TW user. You can check camelback thread for good deals, just post there and he will discount them.

 

I have the same power steps. I love them as does my wife.

The install was a bit if a PITA, mostly the driver's side due to the fuel and brake lines. Hardest things were getting the torque on the front bracket to frame and the damned plastic offset for the lines by the back door. It took me 4 drill bits and about 3 hours to install.

Yeah that was a concern of mine in the beginning...but it does have that headliner OEM carpet and by comparasion to the cab getting heated up ( I did my unscientific ‘test’ in my driveway one hot Saturday), and sticking my head in both it seemed to be the same.
I’ll do a dual temperature check with thermonitors when we get some more sun shiny hot weather....you made me curious for real data

 

Did you paint them or just install them as is. Debating between getting new ones or plasti-dipping the chrome ones I have.

 

In South FL the sun is brutal, not that S Texas is shaded lol, and I have not garage so I avoid dark paint due to the heat and UV punishment.

I think the bedliner will be less likely to fade but you still may have high heat. As long as you don't keep items that will be damaged by the heat in the bed during the summer I am sure all will be well.

But, in other news, the truck looks great!!
