My kids are 4 & 7 and I still carry them sometimes across busy streets or hold their hands in a way in which I can pick them up or pull them out of the way. A few times my MIL said something like, "Did your mom always hold your hand when crossing the street at that age?" My response is always, "No, but cell phones weren't invented yet and people weren't as distracted. Why do I have to keep reminding you?!"

I am teaching my kids to be situationally aware and make sure drivers are paying attention when they're crossing the street. People are driving distracted. On the roads and in parking lots. That's just how it is going to be from now on. So it can't compared to when I was a kid and being overprotective around vehicles is understandable IMO.

Have you talked with the advisors at your local dealer about installing toyata parts for you. I get why you bought online. But there has to be a Toyota dealership in the bay area close to you. Also you might talk with them about matching there price for next time. Some parts managers are pretty cool and will do that. I no atleast at Maita Toyota he does.

Fair point. And four and seven is a different story. Pretty sure these kids are freshman at the high school up the street. Eventually, they will have to cross streets without their mother.

Looks like I’m going to the Men’s Club thanks to BAMF!:D
