Received mine thank you. Going to build an arduino so I can do all of the mods in this thread without adding any buttons and just use the steering wheel buttons. Hold hangup button, locks out normal operation of steering wheel nav/audio buttons. Up for front anytime camera, Down for rear anytime camera, right for nav lockout, etc... Hold hangup button to return to normal operation. Can do anything with it really. I can also build a menu that turn on on the navigation. Will do some testing.

    Josh (OP),

Does pin 17 provide 12 volts? The reason I'm asking is I'm using a AOB switch and want the top LED to light when the pin 17 circuit is complete. If pin 17 does provide 12 volts, is it constant or does it vary along with speed (I have read in this post that someone had a "pulsating" light.

If pin 17 does not provide 12 volts I am going to use a relay to complete the circuit.

This is for a 17 4Runner, but I'm pretty sure the Tacoma of comparable year is the same.

    Thanks,
    Bill

Pin 17 does not provide any voltage. The light circuit in the AOB switches can take either a constant 12v or 12v on ignition or 12v from the dimmer circuit. You should not need a relay to complete the switch lighting. The light circuit is completed when the switch is depressed.

On the switch I am using the bottom part of the switch is illuminated with the dash lights circuit. The top part, if supplied with 12 volts, lights up when the the switch is on. Since pin 17 does not supply voltage, I'll use 12 volts through the switch to trip a relay to close the pin 17 circuit.

Josh thanks for getting the GPS switch to me. :)
I bench tested the switch and see it is NO or normally open, and verified the LED operation which is as you described.
In my opinion......99% of the time the state of the speed signal and data entry should be like factory --closed and disabled --which provides the best performance, and only when you want to enter information while moving you would depress the switch and open the circuit which drops the speed signal (the remaining 1% of the time).
This frequency of use would dictate the switch operation should be closed when not depressed and opened when depressed, a NC switch, are these available in the same form factor? I know I can get there with a relay and will go that route if necessary.

Josh, order was just placed. Order number ends with 2283X. I have a non-Entune, non-Gps touch screen in my '13 SR5. Just need to disconnect the speed sensor so I can dial out on the phone. Thought about using a Molex pin remover but I don't want to damage the pin or connector and this is priced low enough to go this way.

A wiring retard like me would be more likely to buy if there was a DIY step by step install instruction with photos.....it would def get u more sales as well.
