What are you using for the high beams?

Most plus LEDs and I have RX350 HID retrofits so I have 4 lights running highs.

Did you try to activate the turn signal with headlights on yet? Some people only have Hyperflash at that point, in particular with only one bulb in there. The front shouldn’t hyperflash as it's not dual filament if the back is still stock. Did you leave the back bulbs for brake light and turn signal stock?

Yep. no hyperflash with turn signals on both fronts and headlights on. no issues. rears stock besides reverse lights.

All bulbs are not polarity sensitive

Can you elaborate on the RX HID lights. How and where did you get them?

They are from a Lexus RX350 and retrofitted into the oem headlight. It's not a plug and play system.

Thanks, difficult to asses what’s going on with reported body ecu trouble and inconsistent hyperflash.

Just ordered a set of 35w gen5 hid kit from gtr lighting for my girls t4r. I'll post back with before and after pics of the install. Ordered an upgraded halogen bulb for mine. I was concerned about going hid for my truck since it sees so much water.

I was worried as well but went with a completely sealed plug and play system. NO RAGRETS! Only weak spot is connectors which can be wrapped if one is massively worried.

Sorry I have not had chance to read entire thread.

I was so excited to put in my LED bulbs for tail light today but they do not seem to fit. Bought on Amazon.

Here is how it fits on my car...
    B27D84A9-FE82-4504-B376-C70D216F52BC.jpg

You can see that it appears to be too wide. If I flipped over, the bulb would fall out. Thoughts?

I smoked my taillights, so I want nice and bright lights 66FA8AAD-FD9E-4146-95BC-95735DBF646A.jpg

That's good to hear! Are you talking about deep mud holes and river crossings though? Either way I'm excited to put them in the t4r. That'll be a good benchmark on if I'm gonna get them or not.

Return them and get something proven to work?

I bought VLEDS and they went in no problem, bright as well, but I’m not sure how bright they will be with smoked tail lights. Can’t help you there.

    But I gotta ask....

Why in the hell did you reduce the effectiveness of the primary indicator that you are braking? I’d imagine you will get sued if anyone rear ends you. Around here you would get your truck towed to a shop and a mandatory vehicle inspection for that.

I'll look into the VLEDS. Curious what the lumens will be.

As to your question... like some other mods on this website... personal choice. My understanding was that they are not illegal, but then I've also seen some posts about "any" modification to lights being illegal. I figure if I due my part and at least try to increase visibility with the lights that will be enough... we'll see.

Yeah I definitely agree putting the brightest bulbs you can in there is a good idea.

They have the Triton V6 at I believe 300lm but for about 1/3rd the price you can get the direct replacement high visibility model which has 280lm. I went that way, no hyperflash. However waiting for my Triton V6s for the front so stock bulb still in there.

Really appreciate any input. I went back to link from OP and he got these ...image.jpg
listed as 1500 raw lumens and 1200 effective lumens.

I have no idea what stock are. Diode Dynamic website showed upgrade to max 510 lumens but $90!

Stock are just your standard run of the mill glass bulb.

I’m not sure about that brand. But keep in mind these need to stay on for extended periods of time and generally speaking, most of them are not rated for continuous duty. So they can over heat and burn out, melt your housing or both.

This one says brake light so hope it works out. Report back will ya?

Sounds good. There is a helpful post a few pages back about resistors. Maybe order those at the same time if you find you will need them.

I went with the Hikari low beams and looks the same as the day time running leds. Pretty clean.

No serious river crossings but lots of water splashing around. Enough that I’ve had a little come in the cab somewhere around passenger side dash. Nothing serious but when I check on the ballasts etc to see how much water gets in the headlight area, if the ballast moved with my unorthodox mounting, there is always tons of dirt, splash marks etc. So I know the area isn’t particularly protected by the construction of the fenders, bracing or anything. If mine shit out I’m going VLEDS micro in both low and high, and I’ll figure out how to get the LED side markers in and complete my conversion then.
