Just curious about this. Me and some friends stayed in Pioneetown over Thanksgiving.
We did some wheeling in JTNP.

Saw these guys just east of Barker Dam.
These guys hang out here often?

That is cool. Every once in a while I’ll see something in the desert.

    Yeah. It was pretty cool.
I was really hoping to see that tard blow himself up in Amboy. That'd beat all the blown up refrigerators I see in the desert every once and a while.

Yeah we did Old Dale Rd from near Cottonwood entrance to 29 Palms on Friday. Some cool mines. Not a single soul out there.

Huh...we turned off past a jeep and then headed back around 4, did some shooting by one of the mines and then camped on a little bluff, saw probably 4 other people out there. We only went a mile or two off the highway because we had to pack it up early the next morning to get to Johnson Valley for some shock tuning.

I saw one truck on the bluff a few miles south of the 62 around 3:45.
Yeah any stock 4x4 will make it with hearty AT tires. All the 4x4 stuff was in the Pinto's, mostly around the mines. Between Brooklyn mine Rd and the Rd to the Star mine. But I could easily see the road deteriorating quick after a heavy rain.

Nah. It must of been just minutes. I aired up at the Wilderness podium/signage and just a fifth wheel was all I recollect seeing.

Man, the weather was so nice. I guess that's why the park was so packed.

Yeah, I'm new to visiting JT. Without the hordes of tourists I'd see it as a wonderland. But I guess those days are long gone.

But there's so much out there. Mojave Preserve is sweet desolation and one of my favorite places. Eastern Sierras and DV and surrounding humanity sparse epicness are within a days drive.
