    15”s won’t fit second gens due to the caliper. Smallest you can go is 16”.

    Danger Will Robinson, Danger... This was posted in the 5-lug section and all rules of physics related to other Tacoma models, do not apply here.

    The 2nd Gens do come with the 5 lug pattern, 5x4.5" (114.3mm) hub, with a 60.1mm centerbore. The OEM rim is a 15x6" steelie, with offset of +40 (or +45 depending on source).

    Good catch. Didn’t realize where this was posted. It didn’t say 5lug in his vehicle description so I just assumed it was a 6lug. My bad.

    I haven't really paid attention to what others are running in terms of the 16" rims. For some reason, most people seem to go the route of bigger/wider 15"s, rather than 16".. the argument being that tire and rim selection is limited in the 16" range, as compared to 15".

    I run 16"s - 16x7" with 235/85R16s.. i'm the odd one out for that rim/tire combination it seems. My aftermarket rims were originally meant for Jeep JK (Patriot) products - and they are Canada marketed rims only. They closely follow the Toyota OEM backspacing and offset figures, so no help for you there either, with your offset desire, unless you run a 1.75" spacer.

    Look into ProComp and similar rims - i know that some people have run those in the 16" size.

    If you click on the link in my sig, theres a thread that shows 235/75/r15s with no lift then after the lift. You will need to remove your black box (google it)

    As for the rims you will need a 1/4" spacer and either extended acorn style lug nuts or just extend your wheel studs. The rims I currently run has almost the same numbers as those except mine have a larger offset (which in this case dosnt matter mine just stick out more)

    16x8" rims, 5x4.5 lug pattern, -6 offset, 4.25 backspacing. Probably will require hubcentric spacer rings to go between the Tacoma 60.1mm hub centre, to whatever these rims are (i'm betting in the neighborhood of 73.1mm - adapter rings commonly available). If i was going for a slightly larger tire than i'm running now, and wanted it stanced out more aggressively - these are what i'd be looking at in the 16" territory.

    @yowsef2792

    OP, did you end of finding wheels that worked for you? I'm in a similar situation. I actually bought five (5) of the Pro Comp 7069 15x8s and was going to put 235/75R15s on 'em, but....those won't go on an 8 inch wheel...at least the BFG KO2s...not sure about the Wildpeak specs. For KO2s, need to go 30 x 9.5 x 15 to work on 8 inch...

    Lance at 4WheelParts (is the Toyota expert there and is on this forum) said the 15x8s would fit our 5 lugs without the need for spacers...However, another member of this forum bought the exact same wheels about 7 or 8 years ago, wrapped them in 30" tires and needed a 3mm spacer to clear brake calipers...

    I would like to go with 16x7 wheels, but the selection seems to be non-existent so far...and 16" tires seem to cost more...So, I may trade my 15x8s for 15x7s and run 235/75R15s...sounds like no need for lift, black box removal, etc...otherwise, I may go to the 30" tire and keep the 15x8s....

    Please let us know if you found anything that worked for you...I was considering the Falkens as well...wife wants the BFGs, but, damn, they are pricey for just occasional off-road use...

    Joe, manager at Cave Creek Costco in N. Phoenix... says he's been there for 20 years.

    When I pressed for a more detailed explanation he said he could mount the 235s on an 8" wheel all day long as it will fit, but he wouldn't do it and wouldn't recommend it.

    Something about sidewall not being lined up vertically and bowed out due to the wheel width... causing less tread on the road and more stress on the sidewall. That's my best recollection of what he said.

    I went home and looked at the specs for the 235 KO²s and they do state 6-7" wheel width.

    I've looked at some other 235s for comparison on wheel width ranges. I believe the Falken AT3Ws spec at 6-8"...
