This is the first of the newer HiLux trucks that I really wish we had in the US. It’s starting to look more like the Tacoma with the bigger grille.

I would settle for those 18" black wheels. Anyone know of a company that will import Toyota parts from Australia or Thailand?

I don't understand why the bed roll bars are all the rage in the international trucks. Are they functional or just for looks? Is it some regulation? American trucks don't have them and they seem to do fine in that regard. Maybe their safety laws are more strict. Anyway, without that I think it would be a pretty good looking truck.

Most of the HIlux pickups I saw in Malaysia a couple months ago didn't have the bed roll bars. They also looked quite a bit more "carish" than the Tacoma.

Here is Ireland only seen 1 with rollbars and it was done up. They don’t look as bad in person. Every pic I’ve seen so far makes them look like the ridge line

I like it, as with most things I like the previous version better. I like the styling of the Hilux better than the styling of the current Tacoma. One thing I don not like, and this seems to be the trend in new truck design. The body panels on new truck models are over styled.

I think the new trucks look good, they have to much flair for my taste. Look at the rear end of the current Tacoma, and current Tundra. Why do the tailgates look the way they do?

    Is it smart technology?

The more qurkier a truck looks the smarter it must be.

Ive had luck getting Hilux accessories from Thailand on fleabay. Well I got some shift knobs.

Looks only. Could be more appropriate to call it a bed fairing. Just a adornment piece to make the trim more appealing. I used to live in SA and I know when people splurged on the higher end trims they felt pretty strongly about getting their worth in bells and whistles.

Slightly Ridgeline-esque but I don't really care with that Hilux fully boxed frame and badassery.

This is he Revo version. It doesn’t have the roll bars. It definitely looks better without the roll bars although I like the wheels and lack of chrome on the Rocco version better.

Those bed bars scream concept car. I bet it doesn't come out with them. Or maybe I'm wrong. I wish there were more small diesels trucks to steal engines from.

I prefer the angular styling of the Tacoma over the rounded styling of this Hilux (and the Ridgeline.)
    How does this differ mechanically?
