Yes these are for sale. Selling them for a friend. He just has to rebuild them again before shipping.

what you guys think about going for a full Icon setup, lower and upper control arms with shocks or maybe a full TC Long travel. With 4.56 regear and a Rear locker, running some 33 nitto or Falken M/T. Not all at once I wish I can do that but my list was go with the regear and rear locker then shocks and so on, so on. Since I alresdy have a good set of tires I feel the regear and locker would be a go to for my first buy. :):D

Check on the 4.56 re-gear. You might be limited to 4.30 max on the stock 5-lug clamshell. Not sure where i read that, but verify or refute, before ordering your gears.

Nice to see the TC mid-travel kit pop up through @SamGoingHam .. if one pops up of reasonable cost, and this is the route that you wish to go with your truck, snap it up.

Please, also - this is a lot of money and time invested into a 5-lug, in the route you are mapping out. Please assess in terms of potential resale/personal ownership length, whether messing with the present truck is for you. If you plan on keeping it around, go for it. Have the money banked.. it goes plenty quickly. I hate to say it - and i am bloody one to talk - assess whether perhaps upgrading truck version might be the better route to go in the medium term. It's all up to you, and variety is the spice of life.

FWIW, and IMHO. Good luck with the project - the 33" bug seems to have bitten hard LOL.

Hell ya very true gotta look at every possible route and find out what works. I'm barely 19 LOL, I'll have this truck for awhile untill I actually have the credit and money to buy a new one. Unless mammas bank account grows jk nah but I'm basically stuck with this truck for awhile and might as well just do something to it she still kicking and works great! I love all the overland builds! wouldn't hurt to at least get my foot in the door with all this and meet new people Talking to all you guys really helped. never really knew how much work and money it took untill now lol plus never know something great might come of it. Thanks my man!!

So I’ve been looking around the internet and I swear buying anything for 5 lug Tacoma’s is never easy cause a lot of products say they don’t fit, but I was wondering, what rear and front shocks will fit a 2005 5 lug tacoma that has a ready lift kit on it? The lift it 2.75 on the front and 1.75 in the rear but you probably already knew that lol and ps I’d appreciate it links are provided:)

    For 2nd Gen 5-Lugs (2005-2015)

Bilstein 4600 front struts/5100 rear shocks. I sourced mine at 4wheelparts, but any major auto-jobber should be able to order by parts no.

So you have them on your tacoma?? Do they ride good? I was thinking about getting rear fox shocks but they are pretty pricey

I've had them on my 2010 for over 2 years now. They are as to be expected, given the inherent limitations of a spacer-lift. Perhaps a little rough on rougher surfaced roads in terms of ride and shock/strut response, however the truck feels more planted, especially in cornering.. it doesn't sag and mush mid-way, under effect of a wandering CofG anymore. My last truck was a 1988 Ford F150 contractor's special, so i'm perfectly at home with it. I would call it a superior ride over OEM, in my opinion. Mine is a road truck, it doesn't see much in the way of rough road surfaces.

Okay looks like I’m going with the bilsteins then!! And one more question, what if I were to replace that front shocks at a later time? Because with my budget I can only afford the rear shocks right now

Look in the used classifieds in the 2nd lug section, and see if you can get someone's take-offs from their pre-runner or 4x4 .. they came OEM with the higher trim packages.

Your second question depends on what sort of mileage your present shocks/struts have done so far - if higher mileage, why take the vehicle apart, multiple times? Save your dimes. You need to have financial cushion anyway, since shit can randomly happen in the disassembly stage..

Oh okay I was just asking because I don’t want the stock front shocks messing up anything with the lift kit in it

So, 5100's will work on the rear of 2nd gen 5-lug with an AAL? I just ordered 4600's all the way around from tirerack, because they said 5100s were only for 4wd. I will send the rear 4600's back and get 5100's if that will work.

Got a lot of stuff lol
5100s designed for 0-1" lift will work fine. I'm running fox shocks designed for 0-1" lift. Basically any 6 lug shocks designed for 0-1" of lift lol

The AAL gives you the extra stroke travel that allows the 5100's in the rear.

I have 4x4 5100's on mine with the Readylift kit with the AAL and they work fine except under heavy loads. A month or so ago with a LOAD of firewood, there was a lot of clunking in the back which I assumed was the longer shocks bottoming out. Solved that problem last week by installing Timbren "bump stops". The first pic is about 1700 pounds of road base in the back without the Timbrens, the second pic is the same load with the Timbrens.

    Oh 5 luggers.

I still like hanging out in here. A lot less dick measuring. Gets old. Folks typically a little more civil as well in this sub.
