I'd be happy to help. Weld up the frame, but leave me good access to the ends where you need airtight welds. We can Tig up the seals.

You’re welcome to come over on a free weekend Eric. The sooner, the better coz it’s mfking cold nowadays and will only get colder.

Just bring the FF, I have the sprayer and compressor. We can roll your truck onto my four ramp ghetto lift and you can go to town on your frame/undercarriage.

Bring @Tatts521 with you. He’s gonna get bent if doesn’t get the invite. :)

Speaking of compressor. Now that I have that ARB twin I need air tools. What kind of garage compressor should I get that's not going to break the bank?

Dude, with the newer Li-Ion battery powered tools that are in the market right now, I wouldn't even think about getting air tools. I've had Air Tools up to my eyeballs and have given a bunch to the local Goodwill.

This is the only set I now keep "just in case": Impact wrench, right angle 3/8" ratchet, chisel and a die grinder. Bought it at Costco 20+ years ago.
    IMG_1468.jpg

But if you're headed the air compressor/air tool route, I would definitely get something larger than the 4.5 Gallon Porter Cable that I currently have. Especially when you use air tools. Not sure what to recommend. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in. I originally bought my compressor for the nailers that I used to build a house and for general woodworking: Framing, angle finishing, pin, staple and brad. Not really for the mechanics air tools. My newfound mechanics tool interest is just a recent inexplicable phenomenon.

The past couple years, I have always gone to my Dewalt Impact driver's.
    I have a 1/4" and a 1/2" 20v Brushless Impact.

My next acquisition would be a Dewalt 3/8" 20v Brushless Impact. It will take care of the entire range of fastener removal/tightening on the truck, with minor exception to extremely frozen large nuts/bolts. I'll grab the 1/2" for these.

Next up is a 3/8" right angle impact, once Dewalt gets on the ball and makes one. Snap On and Milwaukee makes them.

That's a huge investment. I've got Ryobi 18V power stuff now. It's good and I've almost broken my arm more than once but not adequate as an impact. For some reason I also feel the need to own an air chisel.

Nothing wrong with the Ryobi Stuff. I actually like that they continue to improve upon their 18volt line up both in tool and battery technology. Milwaukee has also stayed with and greatly improved upon their 18v tool lineup/battery technology.

Dewalt screwed me over big time when they moved from 18v to 20v a few years ago. I have most of their entire lineup of 18v NiCd tools, then poof, couldn't use them with any newer Li-Ion battery technologies. Anywhoo, I've been a diehard Dewalt user for 3 decades, so I'm kinda stuck with them.

Air chisel huh? Well, I've never pulled my air chisel out of the case. Ever. LOL.
But one of these days, it's gonna be handy. I guess..

Wondering what you guys think. These are my inner CV boots. I don't see any contact, but is there any other issue with them as is, or is this alright? Coilovers are currently set to where they were when they shipped. I'm not going to adjust them until I get the new leafs in, but if this is an okay height, I might just keep them here and adjust simply to make sure both sides are even.

The big thing is to get enough sustainable CFM for your tools. I'd suggest about 5 CFM for an impact set, although some tools want 6.

I've got a 20 gallon Ingersoll rand, it's fantastic, and quite, that seems to be a lot of what you pay for with more expensive sets

Ryobi and Milwaukee are owed by the same company (TTI group) Though Milwaukee is the higher end they often have same parts and are made in the same plants. That's why in the last few years you seen both Ryobi and Milwaukee make major improvements simultaneously.

Yep. My Porter Cable is loud as hell. It's Oil-Free, which probably adds to the Db level. This reminds me of another reason why I use the MUCH quieter battery powered impacts. My daughter's bedroom is directly above the garage. She will come down and yell at me when I have the compressor running :annoyed:

But I think the air tank capacity (20 gal vs. my 4.5 gal) might help, as well as the CFM. My CFM is 6.0 @90 PSI, and the compressor cycles frequently when I use air tools.
