Zac - I've been looking at your stuff as well as other options. In this thread somebody mentioned that the Relentless Fab ones were very noisy when off-road. Could you or an owner comment on your solution? I'm guessing it's about the same due to their nature.

I'd also like comments from anyone who uses a solution not based on the Quick Fist re: noise.

    Thanks!

I honestly do not hear them rattle at all. Im not sure why the relentless mounts would rattle but i have not heard them rattle at all. And i have been through a few things.
It could be the jack handle that people are hearing also.

Thanks! Your link appears to be for the roof rack one? A great solution if you have a rack. I found for bed mounting an axe/shovel. Very nice solutions all-around. The only problem with the bed mount version is that you can only carry one item per side and neither can be a hi-lift. If they made a hi-lift version

Were your quick fists roof mounted? I've never had any and this is the first report of breakage I've heard. Just curious....

I used two galvanized fence hinges, 2 3/8 carriage bolts, 2 lock nuts, and 2 Wing nuts on the outside. The hinge pieces work well because they are made for carriage bolts. I attached them using the stock tie downs 81A428EE-0DA1-439A-A30E-9C5327AB17E7.jpgA74C0B88-E9DA-4983-9A21-3CD9FBEDA092.jpg CE618F20-0B60-481F-8AE7-2E68943FDED9.jpg5ED3DD7A-56AB-40CB-8C11-531C0971E724.jpg

[IMG] Quick fist holding the axe broke after a year or so. Good catch, the Tacoma ones have an extra bracket bolted horizontally at the bottom, I should have been paying more attention.

As Zac said, it is likely the handle. I have the Relentless mounts and once they are bolted it I don't see how they would make any noise.

I got these from Armor Tech/4x4 innovations. Very beefy and perfectly fit a full 60" with base and top attached.

Hey there- love the simplicity and positioning of this! Any chance you could share a pic of what the hinge looks like? Or a similar model? I can't seem to find one in that shape. Thanks!

Will have to get pics - used automotive wheel studs for the threaded attachments. Then Gorilla wheel lock nuts for the clamps. Chose some that would also fit the truck if needed.
