Nice! Any close-ups of the u-bolt rod vault mounts? I have one mounted on my camper top cross bars now and just ordered a cabrac. Eventually I will have a toprac and was brainstorming a way to mount the rod vault.

I like how low profile your setup is.

Any issues with it being so low-pro? Does your camper rear glass open all the way? Or does it hit the rod vault?

    Appreciate it!

What are you using to secure to the rack? just ratchet straps?

Used to carry our 13' 2 person Kayak on out WRX wagon but thinking about picking up a Prinsu to carry it on the truck.......we dont have a camper shell on ours though. Thought about using it with a support that goes into the hitch

Just checking out all these loads strapped across the gap between the cab and rear cab on the bed. Remember that the frame will twist axially a bit on uneven terrain. Think about that and how you approach securing whatever you are putting up there and what terrain you will be taking it over. In some cases, twp straps on the rear rack, and just a pad secured to the cab rack under the overhanging front end of the load may be a better approach for rigid or fragile loads.

I have yet to even install mine, but I've been thinking about various setups and this issue.

Generally I thought the only time I'd have a load spanning the gap would be lumber, not a big deal, especially since it would be on pavement. But I have been thinking about kayaks a bit lately.

A beginner's kayak LOL. We have a recreational lake nearby with lots of great casual paddling available. Not whitewater or saltwater at this point. Possibly even doing standup paddleboard.

I don't bud, but if you have a prinsu and a rod vault than you know those dimensions because all you'll have to do is add the 3/8" vibration bad I have as the filling between the two.

Shoot. I need to make over cab rails because prinsu does not manufacture 1st gen double cab setups. I was hoping to figure out the radius at the ends of the over shell rails.

When looking in my side view mirror, I can certainly see my shell/bed flexing independently of the cab. This is something I'm concerned about once I mount my Hobie PA up there. Strapping it down such that it allows for some torsional movement will be important. That said, it does seem to be only about an inch or so. I imagine the Hobie's plastic hull can soak that up.

Well I made some of these brackets for buddy of mine @Trident904 .The bracket is universal it can be mounted on a Prinsu rack to mount just about anything you can think of. It is also compatible with using it in the truck bed rail instead of a T-slot nut. The bracket is about 3" long by 1" inch wide and the holes are 5/16 threaded and are spaced apart far enough to mount a Roto pax to. I have 4 left I'm looking to sell for $25 shipped anywhere in the good ol USA
