Got back a couple weeks ago from 10 days out in the sticks for my hunt.

The adjusters are worth every penny to me.

Have them set at 6 front / 3 rear for every day driving.

Set to 9 front / 6 rear for off roading. Performed well at these adjustments with varying conditions (fast track at speed, whoops, slow crawling over rocky trails, etc). Pretty happy with the setting for general off roading. May try it a few more clicks up on the front next time out, as I got pretty hard into the skid on a few rocks that I typically would not think would be a problem.

With the heavy load of camping gear in the back, I had to make a few stops to finalize the adjustments along the way, but settled on 9 front / 18 rear for the heavy load. I barely knew I had anything back there. No more spooky "float" in the back at speed with a heavy load on the highway. Once offroad, it kept me mostly out of the rear bumpstops and drove exceptionally well for having such a heavy load in the back. Once I got to camp and off loaded the truck, and went back to the 9/6 setting and left it there until it was time to load up and head home.

For varying load conditions and driving duties (daily driver / off road), the compression adjusters are the best $500 I've spent on the truck so far.

Sorry there's so many comments to go through. I ordered 14" 650lb extended travel for the front. But what do I need for rear if I do 1.5-2" AAL? Standard? First lift so I don't want to mess it up

The regular Tacoma rear King shocks should work fine for that amount of lift.

Thanks I appreciate it! I’ll probably just run an AAL until I mount a RTT over my bed then I’ll get heavy duty Dakar’s

I purchased a 2017 tacoma about a month ago that had the kings installed front and rear. The person that installed them didn't adjust the springs at all. I am trying to get about another 1" of lift out of them but the coils will not budge. I loosened the screw on the collar and used WD40 in the threads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did you do a cab mount chop? Any rubbing with the tires?

Did some minor grinding of the cab mounts, pretty much no rubbing. I will eventually do a CMC just to give extra clearance.

Picked up a set of extended coil-overs. I'm not ready to run the extended (buy UCA's) suspension and honestly not sure I'll ever need the additional droop so I'm wondering if anyone knows where I could get the spacers that keep the suspension at a 'standard' or non-extended length. I suppose directly from King? Or, if anyone has removed their's and wants to sell.

I believe it is a 1/4" spacer inside the shock.

Looking for some insight after reading through this thread and others. I just have some items to clear up before doing the deed.

First, those of you who are running King's, are you running the OME Performance Series? Or, more specifically the 25001-119A's upfront and the 25001-121A's in the rear? Or, are you running another version?

I'm planning to use the extended travel version up front with 700# coils, and Deaver U402 Expedition 2 leaf packs in the rear. Do the rear shocks also come in extended travel, and with the Deavers, will I need the shock relocation kit?

Finally, I assume the adjusters (for adjusting from soft to stiff) are a dial type setting that don't require a tool to adjust, where as if you want to adjust the preload on the springs, you're required to use a tool?

    Thanks!

Hey man I’m running the ext travel king coilover reservoir (#25001-119-EXT) non adjustable up front on my 2014 Tacoma. I went with the 600lb springs since I’m not running an aftermarket bumper but when I get a bumper I will probably go to a 700lb spring too. If you’re running a stock bumper with a 700lb spring, it will ride stiffer just fyi.

How much lift do those leafs add? I have all pro leafs on my tacoma and gave about 2 1/2 inch rear lift and I went with the extended king 2.5 shocks. The part number for that through down south motorsports (DSM) I believe is (2500-121-EXT) this isn’t a longer shock but has a longer bottom mount piece to the axle that gives a little bit longer overall shock length. These were made for the Dakar leaf pack but worked perfect on my all pro’s. I’m not too sure about the shock relocation for the deavers maybe someone else could help with that on here or you can always call DSM they have great customer service and are more than willing to help. In terms of the adjusters, I went the cheaper route and didn’t get them but all you should ever need in terms of adjusting your shocks would be by the turn adjusters. You could adjust the psi in each shock but king already pre-pressurize these shocks for tacomas specifically and isn’t nessicary. Good luck!

@bradgarcia805, thanks for the response. I've read so many different posts that everything is blending together.

Yes, I'm planning to do an aftermarket steel bumper upfront (possibly with a winch) and an HC steel bumper in back, but that being said, with the 700# coils, I'm thinking the adjusters should help even out the ride, when daily driving. The Deavers are supposed to add about 2.5 to 3" of lift with @ 400 lbs. I wont have that much weight on a daily basis, but I will have steel skids front to back, sliders and an aluminum bed rack.

The part number you're showing is for the OEM Performance shocks.

I've since learned that the adjusters are for the compression and is a dial. I was confusing it with the preload on the coilovers.

    Again, thanks.

I just want to be done.
So I did this yesterday.... But i have some question if anyone can assist.
The front coils i had no clue couldn't be adjusted while on the truck due to the resonator.
But is there any special spanner to do this while on the truck?
Does anyone have some experience with making these raise to the 3" potential I.E how many threads do you have showing above the coil?
Right now its drooped in the front because of this and i would love to make it even.
Also need an alignment pulling to the right pretty bad.
Now the ride with 12 clicks to firm is damn near perfect IMO.
    Thank you for your input.

P.S Currently reading through this if i find answers i will delete. :)

Just in case anyone has the same question on how to adjust while mounted I got a pretty solid answer that I think will work...

Find a Solid punch cut it down to about an inch or so and put it in the spanner hole and use a wrench to pull it and bring it into a position where you can use a normal punch again.

I haven't tried it yet but i will update once I give it a go.
