Are you guys doing programs? I'm interested in doing one. I'm getting stronger but I want some direction and critiquing on my lifts. I got them down for the most part but I know technique goes a long way. I'm thinking of doing a local program with a local coach.

I did this today, it's my go-to when I don't have time to cook.

I also did this today for a PR. Also a PR and possibly world record for slowest squat.

Man good job staying with it but back off that weight until you can do 275 for 5 that turned into a good morning really quick.

This is the lunchbox I use. It's big and comes with 6 containers and a shaker bottle. I prep my food 7 days at a time and keep 4 containers in the fridge and 3 in the freezer. I work full-time and go to law school at night, so I'm always on the go. As long as where I'm at has a microwave, I'm good to go.

    Right under jogging speed...like 4.0-4.5.

I'm not a big fan of super strict programs. Currently, I'm doing a 4 day split and occasionally I'll mix it up with a week of upper/lower. I mix between heavy and light reps and am constantly doing different exercises each week and progress hasn't stalled yet.

Some folks do better with a more strict program that tells them exactly what to do. What is your goal? There are THOUSANDS of free workouts online. bb.com even has a workout database with videos showing you how to properly do each lift.

Came here to say this. That was not a squat...that was a good morning. Good way to visit snap city. Back off until you get the form correct so you don't snap your shit up.

Maybe a good morning, but I'm 95% sure it would count in a competition as you clearly broke parallel. Think about keeping your chest big during the lift like you're the biggest cock on a rooster farm and weight more on your heals. It'll most likely straighten that lift right out.

Counting in a competition and having good form are two VERY different things. But I guess if his goals are competition-related, that doesn't matter :notsure:

Good form certainly matters. Stating it wasn't a squat is false though. Pretty sure we've all been folded forward a couple of times on squat. It happens.

True that, but I wouldn't call that a PR due to the form. What I would do is work my way up to a weight that I can 1RM with good form and then build from there. I'd guess that is probably in the high 200's. That's just my opinion and opinions are like assholes...

For sure! 5/3/1 had me at 245x3+ and I hit 8 reps with no grind. Decided to put 315 on just to feel it and walk out and decided spur of the moment to go for it.

Working on my cock gains, forgot to take before and after pics tho

Depends on the federation I believe and also on the judge who can call it if it looks like you’re not going to get it. I think the only rule is it can’t start going back down once you start your upward movement which I don’t think happens here so it’d probably pass but that doesn’t make it impressive lol...

Strengthen your core. That’s why you fold forward, you lose tightness there ya done son

Core is definitely something I need to focus more intently on and overall just keeping tightness and learning how to breathe and brace correctly. I never use a belt and really only ever wear sleeves (not competition tight) because of my years of skating and fucking my knees up from impact, and wrist wraps and forearm bands to avoid fucking up from my hyperflexing wrists. I think 2018 I'll actually throw in more things for assistance as I basically just stick to the rudimentary lifts and assume it's enough to get everything up to speed. I've had about 2 years of lifting now and have come a long way from being a dumpy IT dickweed with bad posture and lifestyle and excited to see where I get next year.

Think I might start throwing in heavy carries and some prowler work while utilizing the core program of 5/3/1 for my main lifts. Any other suggestions for core work that have helped you? We used to have a hyperextension bench and I loved warming my back up on that since I feel like it's a weak point for me. Been scared to do good mornings because I don't know the form well and don't want to dick my back up, but I basically did that in this video.

Also, really appreciate the feedback on this and wasn't expecting that much attention! I've never competed and no longer have a workout partner to help with form and cues and whatnot and have never had a coach.
